Hi Beoworlders,
I wondered if anyone would be interested in watching a live Question and Answer session on YouTube with myself and John at B&O Manchester? If you have any questions for us (they don't have to be about Bang & Olufsen!) then please add them in the comments below ;-)
Kind regards, Steve.

For sure Steve! I am always eager to your Youtube videos on your channel. Bring it on!

Go for it!

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Absolutely! YES!!!
Hi Steve, I've enjoyed your videos comparing speakers across the years and the range. In one recent video you gave a few tips for auditioning speakers.
Suggestion for your next video: could you expound on this? How should someone make the most of the time during which they audition speakers in a B&O showroom? How should they prepare? (Cleaning out your ears, for example, was a genius suggestion; simple enough to overlook.) What sound pressure meter do you use/recommend? How long should the audition last, how many tracks to audition, etc, etc.
Since John will join you, it would be great to hear his side of the same question. What should a customer do to maximize the experience, and not waste the time of the customer and the dealer?
Just go for it!

It can be an exciting program because I'm convinced there are many questions where your view on it would be interesting. I myself have chosen B&O for its ease of use and then I prioritize the music quality very high.
Some questions that I would like to hear you discuss.
Thanks everyone!
It looks as though we will be going live at 8pm (UK time) on Friday evening on John's YouTube channel. I will forward the questions to John in the morning, but please tune in on Friday and feel free to ask more questions via the live chat while the show is running!

Ok - did not think of that!
But you already helped out showing it :-)
Thanks John for a good video on the stereo pairing of the balance
The question is now that B&O have dropped NL and the join function and opting to go for Airplay 2 and Casting, do you think that is a better technology? And does this effectively mean an end , or the start of the end of the BeoApp?
John previously said (in a comment reply to his video) that stereo pairing of Balance could only be done with the version containing the Google Voice Assistant. Can that actually be true? Chromecast (which should be what is supporting the feature, yes?) is not wedded to the GVA... and neither am I. But room compensation cannot be done with the mic mute switch turned on in the GVA version -- thus one who didn't want to talk to his speaker and didn't want Google listening *must* purchase the non-GVA version, where the mic is always on so it can do room compensation, but no mic audio is sent out. Perfect, right? But not if you can't stereo-pair the non-GVA version...
Also it would be great to see a demo of AirPlay2, and to see / figure out where the stereo pairing configuration is hidden, in the Apple environment.
Thanks!
Thanks,
Good question! Have you seen John's latest video about stereo pairing?
We won't be able to do any live demos on this live stream, as John's store is closed at the moment, however we should be able to cover the pairing questions.

I know of a german dealer, who goes (or rather bicycles) to the store (alone) to make YT videos.
I find that a good movecto stay in touch with the costumers.
Is John quarantined at home?
While they continue to make / sell TVs / BVs....I don't see why the BR One should end.
After all the Halo wont substitute for a TV remote.
When it comes to the App, I think we know now that new products will only use the App for setup / settings, not for experience control.

@Sandyb
At least for audio products it makes no sense to have the BeoRemote = they sell less.
And - you as an advocate for CEC controls - will know that the need for a B&O remote is not as important as earlier on.
Some people are using the AppleTV remote for their setup consisting of xx-tv, ATV and Stage.
I am just saying there will be less and less need for a specific B&O remote, if they continue with similar products like the Balance and the Stage.
By the way.....you can ‘talk to’ most tv’s nowadays - you don’t need to look out for a remote (that costs a small fortune compared to an xx-tv).
I guess - in the end - the only ones, who will miss it, will be people like you and I.....and a few others.
Might be one of the mistakes we make is thinking how the "old" Beoremote One is going to drive new products?
From my perspective. it will continue to control the Stage and the C9. Even if I need to buy a new one to control the rest of the room I am not at all stressed. For as long I don't have to pull out the original LG remote control.
Indeed, I and many others would miss the BR One.
I guess all I am saying is that while BV's still exist (as new products), so will the BR One.
For the record, I'm not an advocate of CEC. All I've ever said is that, whilst still imperfect given not all brands implement (the protocols) the same way, nevertheless it has become much more prevalent, and as such I could see B&O ditching PUC and relying on CEC. IR was increasingly being seen as passe, hence my prediction. Different from advocating.
And as for voice - yes, well I made all these points many times in the past i.e. that control paradigms were shifting, and as such many of the things we'd used would be de-emphasised by B&O (be in NL, PUC etc).......but when I made these points (again a prediction, not advocating) many simply would not accept what was soon to happen.

Ok, I’ll give you that - ‘advocating’ was the wrong word.
As you say, you predicted it!
Seems to be true!
But with less PUC and more CEC controlling, wouldn’t that lower the need for a BROne?
Also people are casting stuff to the tv....hardly a remote needed there.
And with less products to control, they might start not to focus that much on it.
Would be sad.....I certainly would not ‘advocate’ that, but kind of predict it ;-(
Today things aren’t ‘source driven’ anymore, but ‘content driven’.
Maybe we need a new - much smaller - BeoRemote
One with much less buttons.....to navigate through menus in app’s.....plus a couple of MyButtons.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for that. Perhaps you could ask him whats the outlook for updates on Stage. I am missing two features: 1) linein delay 2) HDMI ARC source distribution
Thanks.

John & Steve: Thank you for that nice little session. Looking forward to "beard swapping" of you two.
Hi everyone,
A big thank you to all of you who joined us, that was great fun (although a bit nerve-wracking!) John is a natural at hosting this sort of show, I think he is planning to get some guests on each week (although I'm hoping for a repeat invite so that we can carry out the beard swap!)
Also thanks to Mikipedia for all his help getting us set up for the live stream, your generosity and expertise made everything possible
HI Steve,
Hope you are well. Would you be able to ask John or let me know about the Balance's optical audio port because I can now get it to work but I have to take the Toslink end out of my tv and put it back in each time to get the Balance to function on that source. Can't B&O make the Balance prioritise the line-in/optical port so it just works permanently when connected. Also, will B&O release an update in the app and to the Balance's software that will allow us to change the audio source?
Stay safe.
Kind regards,
Suneet
