IF I START THE CD PLAYER WITH THE REMOTE, CD 1 STARTS PLAYING BUT THEN STOPS AND SAYS PAUSE.

IF I MANUALLY PRESS CD I, ON THE SIDE OF THE UNIT, I GET THE SAME MESSAGE.

IF I PRESS CD ON THE REMOTE AND THEN PRESS 2 THRU 6, IT SEEMS TO PLAY FINE.  ALSO PLAYS FINE WHEN I PRESS 2 THRU 6 ON THE SIDE OF THE UNIT.

AFTER PLAYING 2 THRU 6 CD'S, I CAN PRESS 1 AND IT PLAYS FINE.

ANY THOUGHTS... OR REPAIR SUGGESTIONS?

THANKS!!

I have a vague memory of the 9000 behaving something like you describe if the adjustment screws on the backside of the unit are not set to match the orientation. You can try that, it is by far the cheapest fix if it takes care of your problems.
