Hi,
I've installed a superb Sennheiser BT-T100 Bluetooth transmitter and want to install one also to a Beosystem 3. The Beosystem 3 has an USB Socket BUT how can it be activated? I only need it for powering the Sennheister Bluetooth transmitter but there's no power on the USB-Socket. I've even plugged in a simple low current USB Led light for testing which doesn't light up either. Is there a special trick to activate the USB socket?

I haven't got a clue whether it is actually powered - the manual says that it's for service use.

Sometimes blocking the data allows power to be extracted from USB sockets - I have had success in the past with car USB sockets. (eg powering a dashcam from a car-entertainment system's USB input, where the USB socket is looking for music data rather than supplying power by default.)
Thank you for the link. I ordered the USB adapter but it doesn't help. I know that the USB port is for service use but I'm searching for a way to activate when I want its +5V service for my Bluetooth transmitter.

That's a shame, but at least the adapter will be useful if plugging your phone into dubious charging points
