"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
Ver cool. Would love to see the step by step instructions.
The Beolit 12 sounded great, but the wifi/airplay card was just pants.
steve1977:Agree, this is really cool! I even have a much beloved beolit 12. Unfortunately not a fan of google chrome. If possible to replace for a better wifi card abs get AP2 to work, this would be fabulous.
I've tried to "airplay convert" various B&O devices, including portable ones. In that cas the main problem I ran into was Power : Aiport bases are main powered and even if you want to tear it down, there's still at least 2 different power voltages with would not make it an easy job.
___:Did you try to fit an airport express inside?
Not into a Beolit 12. And generally not "into" devices because i didn't wanted to harm the original devices.
I have "Airplayed" a Beosystem 10. I wanted to make it run fully on batteries but I didn't managed to:https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/36351.aspx
And a Beoplay A2 wich I would have liked to power the Airport base from the USB, to have the wall socket free to charge the A2. But I also didn't get it:https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/38833.aspx?PageIndex=2
I have an airport express (with airplay 2) that runs of usb power.
I tried to power it from the Beolit 12, but it gives some kind of surge to the audio signal/aux cable.
Yes, they're a lot of hacks to power the Airport express from usb or even à 9v battery. From memory you need two voltages: 5v and 3,3v.
I tried the hack with the duck power board: 5v directly from USB power and 3,3v via the duck power board.it did work for a while. after some weeks the AE was fried (not the duck board).
I now have a second AE that died after being in the bathroom for maybe too long; no power at all.I should open it and plays with the duck board again, but those boxes are painful to open so at the fifth confinement maybe…
