Who knows the functionality of this part in Beosound 9000 - in service manual call as Window Right and Window Let/
Looks like semicircular sphere above and below CD ( or left side and right side in horizontal position)

Its and ir reciever if it is the halv cylinder over the cd sledge on your picture.
