Beogram 5005

I had a problem.with the time arm rear adjustment screw being seized. In trying to loosen I dismantled the arm and unfortunately have broken pickup wires. I have tried to reattach, checking continuity and I'm sure it's all ok, but sound is not as good as it was.

The words are extremely fine and wonder if I have got it right.

Am I doing the right thing? Is there a better way to get the working correct.

I'd happily buy a replacement if one were available complete.

Now very frustrated. Please help.

When I damaged the wires in my tonearm I got a replacement tonearm from a reputable b&o seller on eBay. Was a reasonable price for the replacement arm, and I was really pleased with the condition of it.

I think for peace of mind it could be worth getting a replacement arm.

That would be ideal, I dont suppose you remember who. I'm not getting any responses and they are not available as a spare part from b&o anymore.

Sorry, my eBay purchase history won't allow me to look back that far. I paid something like £30 for it. Sorry I can't help more.

I believe the tonearms from the Beogram 5500 and TX2 record decks are the same as for your 5005.  That may give you more purchase options.  You may want to check the numbers to be absolutely certain before purchase.

Good call.

I just cant seem to find anything for sale. I know ors no longer a spare part from b&o but someone must have a spares machine somewhere.
