for one thing B&O should be there again

but also rumours have it that Intel and Samsung have announcements coming

in this article I sort of agree with the survey ... people don't want SMART TVs for complex social media activities ... but I suspect they will want do things like what I am doing for you right now Smile

"check out Samsung Ad at the 55 second mark"

mmmm.... Translucent tv screens. It's very Minority Report meets the DJ mixer touchscreen that I planned to get.

seems a tad pointless , a screen you can see all the wires and leads round the back through

I can't find a current eBay link, but for a long time someone was selling a giant  transparent Bang & Olufsen commercial display television screen.

Transparent screens with all the connections hidden will make good advertising points, but surely can't have a future as domestic television displays.

Not if you can see the dust on the floor behind them. :-)

Came across this today, mention of B&O in the article. Not sure what to expect.

Tomorrow, Bang & Olufsen will deliver a major press conference

This a a real beauty...

http://www.techradar.com/news/television/in-pictures-samsung-s9-uhd-4k-tv-1123394

And this from Sony...

http://www.whathifi.com/news/ces-2013-sony-launches-55in-and-65in-4k-ultra-hd-tvs-4k-discs-and-content-to-follow

It was only a matter of time before these companies made a real attempt at making tv's with some decent sound, to match some of their beautiful designs.

And this is what is in the review ..........

and the panels come with a frame that's been shaped like an artist's easel. This gives the television something of a lean-back look, which is eye-catching but probably not to everyone's tastes.

............... now where have I seen that before Hmm

Laughing

No - I was thinking more of the MOMA ... but as this (http://beophile.com/?page_id=9679) seems to indicate, the laid-back BVs never made it there.

According to B&O's press release from 3/1:

Challenge Your Senses at CES 2013 with Bang & Olufsen

Join Bang & Olufsen during CES 2013 for the global launch of a new product within their audio category. The high-tech Danish design brand will  also showcase its most recently launched products including BeoVision 11 – the brand’s latest top of the line television - and CES Best of Innovations Award-winner in high performance audio, the popular BeoPlay A9.

basically it looks like a whiteboard gone wrong

this is what happens when they stop copying apple and attempt to design something themselves

I thought it wasn't that bad.

Didn't look like a tea trolley anyway. When you consider what's being released as immature technologies at the moment, it makes my 10-46 look rather dull. OLED, 4K&8K etc

Sony announced that they are ready to release 4K on BluRay discs this year. Nothing like cornering the market.

I wasn't aware that apple made TV's to copy!

I don't think its that bad at all - a quick glance at the complete slab that was the BV4-85 and they could be commended for trying something different. They also claim a 120watt 3-way, 2.2 channel sound system built in, which dependant on how it actually performs, could make it a decent stand alone TV.

I'm sure they will look better in the flesh. Just to be sure, you have to embed or engineer these into your wall?

Surely once you become an adult, and once the 1990's were over - people stopped wanting speakers that looked that this??? I am surprised at Panasonic - their new speakers look like a wind up!!!
