After searching this site and the internet, I am still confused about this. What, as of april 2020, is the preferred/state of the art method of listening to internetradio or youtube-music or music stored on a computer if I want that to happen through my Beocenter 9500 with it's Beovox S45-2 speakers?
There are all sorts of streaming devices that I come across, including B&O's own "Core" and the second hand available "Playmaker", or Apple's Express (now discontinued), or the Sonos equivalent, etc, etc.
What is your advice for a B&O-worthy quality device at a reasonable price?
If you exclude the B&O devices, all solutions will be something with sending audio from a smartphone/tablet to a receiving device, that is connected to a free input on the 95000 (e.g. the A.Aux).
This means that you must find the media you want to listen to via the phone/device/the app on it (as an example TuneIn for internet radio).
That will be your main device, the 9500/speakers will merely be ‘passive’ - you turn it on (e.g. by pushing A.Aux on the panel or the remote control and you can control the volume), no further controls there.
As for the Core/Essence - there are built-in sources (e.g. tuneIn) there, that you could control directly via a BeoRemote One/bt (plus other benefits like linking to other B&O devices like the Stage/soundbar).
This may seem a bit complicated at first.
My advice however, will be to get a Playmaker or an APE (if you can get hold on one of these) and connect it to the 9500.
Preferedly I would hardwire the Playmaker to the home network, if possible.
If you are not that much in to iOS/AirPlay, you could use the Google cast device called Chromecast Audio in a similar way....if you can get hold on one of these.
Also the small Audio Cast M5 device could be used.
Basicly there are lots of option for what you want to do - please choose a rather simple (and cheap) solution as a starter in order to gain experience in these matters.
But don’t forget: the phone/tablet will be your main device - maybe dedicating an older/now unused iPhone/iPad or an iPod Touch for this purpose would be an idea.
Then your control device is always there for all members of the household.......and not accidentially out of house.
Good luck - happy experimenting.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I have two Sonos Connect. One in the living room with a Beosystem 6500/BL 8000 and one in my work shop in the basement with a Beosystem 7000/BL Penta mk. 3 and RL 140. All connected to the BM via the AUX port.
The Sonos Connect have been working perfect for several years now.
For me my best addition to B&O AUDIO the last years is this: I use a streaming device from Teufel/Raumfeld connected to my BeoMaster 7000.
With the Teufel APP you can control all streaming functions, that means also all over the BEOLINK house using WIFI. The APP is your remote. For example an internet station is streamed directly to your BeoCenter, not streamed from your phone or tablet. Just plug it into your master/system/center/beosound by a RCA to DIN cable and enjoy your internet radio 80.000 stations, premium High resolution music providers, your tablet, phone, your own files by USB, computer and many more. Price 278 Pounds, 299 Euro's. See here some screenshots and weblink:

Thanks for the suggestions. Is there any reason to believe that the Playmaker would be in any way superior to a Teufel/Raumfeld? I don't like options that require frequent updating or upgrading like Sonos.
