I just got a Beogram 5000 turntable.  When you play a record it is supposed to turn on the BeoMaster 5000 amplifier and go to the “Phono” input automatically. It’s not doing that. I have to turn on the amplifier and input manually.  Is there any way I can get this turntable to turn on amplifier?  Thanks.

Are the Datalink pins fitted in the Beograms DIN plug?
Is has to have seven pins.

Looks like all pins are there. Still doesn’t work. Doesn’t look like any corrosion either. Any other ideas?  Thanks. Ric

Could be a broken off lead inside the Beograms DIN plug or a bad safety diode inside the Beomaster.

I have another Beogram 5000 turntable just like this one. It does turn on the amp when you hit play on the turntable.  I replaced it with this one because the lamp in the dustcover stopped working. So I know that the amp recognizes signal.    This is odd.
