Hi all,
Temporarily quarantining down here in LA with the in-laws. Knowing that I cannot be without a record player for more than three days, they gifted me their old BeoSystem. Had been in storage since Bill Clinton was in office, but I have been going through the Beogram. Naturally it had been transported incorrectly, the string was not attached and the tab had broken off. Setdown was out of whack and the cart was nowhere to be found. I picked up a new Soundsmith, reattached the spring, cleaned contacts, lubricated slides. Three swift blows with the hammer later (kidding) - and it works! A much more complicated affair than my Rega back home. Belts coming courtesy of Martin.
Hi,
Welcome to Beoworld. I am social distancing from Texas. I have a Beosystem 5500 as well except I am using the Beogram 5000 turntable instead of the 5500. I restored my system a few years ago and it works great.

You certainly have me beat on presentation!
I always loved the Attyca furniture. I wanted your setup but with the MX TV on the top shelf.
