set up is Eclipse, 2 Beolab 18 front speakers, 2 Beolab 6000 rear speakers, Beolab 2 subwoofer, ATV, Beosound 9000 in living room
Could I buy a wireless speaker for the conservatory which would play all my ATV music and the CD player?
if so, how exactly would that work, and which speaker would you recommend? I don’t want to spend too much!

Here is what I think could work but some expert on this forum would need to confirm since I don’t have a Beosound 9000.
1. Buy a Beosound Core and connect the Beosound 9000 as an input source to the Core.
2. The Beosound Core is Apple AirPlay 2 compatible so if you have an iPhone or iPad - the Core, the Apple TV and the speaker in the conservatory (for lower cost I would recommend the Beoplay M5) will be visible as AirPlay 2 sources. You can now play anything from any of these devices anywhere.
3. The problem in your set up is that the Eclipse is not AirPlay 2, the Apple TV is, but it doesn’t know anything about the Beosound 9000. So basically all you are doing is making the Beosound 9000 AirPlay 2 compatible.
My 2 cents is that you should consider uploading your CDs (if they aren’t already available on Apple Music or Spotify) and just stream to the speaker from the conservatory since any BeoPlay speaker is not going to resolve the difference between CD and streaming quality.

If I understand the question correct, the op already has the BS9000 integrated with the Eclipse.....probably using a NL/ML Converter.
If not, that would be the best way to do it.

That linked setup will give you the option of linking another NL-device.
Depending on the needs (and what should be spend) a BeoPlay M3 in the concervatory would do the job.
If correct configured, this could draw on the CD-part of the 9000 as well as on the ATV connected to the Eclipse.
(Hereby note, that the M3 also supports AP/AP2).
For comfort, just use a BeoRemoteOne/bt with the M3 to control it and its linked sources.

Not sure how the B&O guy connected the 9000 to the tv but I know he didn’t use NL/ML converter
You connect bs 9000 to line in on the eclipse.
Manual control BS 9000, and sound up and down with tv remote or app.
You can also disturb line in out to beolink, to product that support beolink app. ..
Would mean, that you have to manually turn on the 9000, whenever you’d want to listen to CD from it in the conservatory........if you have an NL device (like the M3) there.
Not that comfortable, but will do the trick as long as noone else is using the Eclipse.
That is awesome! In that case you have everything you need to play any music in any room you choose. Personally, I would advocate for the M5 as a high quality, reasonably priced AirPlay 2/Chromecast speaker. I also have a BS1 and really like the fact I can take it out door while grilling or exercising or just relaxing on my patio. Excellent sound for it’s size and beautiful like a B&O product should be 🙂

All this information is just great. Thanks so much. I am a real beginner with Airplay 2, wireless small Beoplay speakers, so can I get some precise details before I take the plunge
1. What do I physically do to listen to my ATV music with the speaker in the conservatory? Can I switch everything on in the conservatory?
2. What do I physically do to listen to my CDs with the speaker in the conservatory I appreciate I have to switch the 9000 on manually
3. I presume I have to manually choose a particular CD
4. Does the M3 or M5 operate with a Beoremote 1and does the speaker come equipped with one?
5. Any other info. which I might find useful would be great

What you real plan to do her? Play music from your Eclipse out to the speaker in the conservatory?
My best option is connect your BS 9000 with line in to your eclipse, if that in same room. Then you press music on your beoremot one, and choice line in. After that you start up your bs 9000 directly on your player, or us a remote control extra.
Yes, you need to do, but how many times you play cd music anymore? So that 10 times true the year, its easy to do what i explain in number 2.
They both can been connected to beoremote one, 1 for each room is recommended. Because you never walk with you remote between different room, when you early want to start your radio or music. Your local music you can start up M3 or M5 is . Tunein radio, Music (deezer built in) , Bluetooth, Spotify (only on M5), Line in. And you can press join. To join a source from another product that play in the house.This is the beolink function. And have nothing with airplay 2 or chrome cast. If you use that to multiroom system you can only use beoremote one to skip to next song or volume up and down.
Why not go to your local B&O shop and ask them, I know they would be happy to shop you the function you want, and you will see it in live:)
1: What do you mean by ATV music?
Anything that you can play to the ATV, you also can play to the M3/5 etc....using AirPlay!!!
And you can play to both at the same time using AirPlay 2....from within the AP menu of the iDevice.
4: Yes, they do....but must be purchased seperately. Otherweise you can use the Bang & Olufsen app (or any app, when AirPlaying).
2 and 3: Yes, manually (if the setup is without a NL/ML Converter).
The Eclipse and the NL-device ( M3/5 etc) must then - using the setup app and the tv menu - be linked together.
After that you can find the source/the input, where your 9000 is connected to on the Eclipse in the List of the NL device. It can be choosen either via the BeoRemote One/bt or in the Bang & Olufsen app.
(Don’t forget, you will have to manually start the playback on the 9000....or you could use a Beo4 for that).
If it already is playing on the Eclipse, you can listen in on the M3/5 by just tapping the device or by pushing the Join button on the remote for the M3/5.
Might seem a bit complicated, but once setup, it is easy to handle.

To play music from iTunes you don’t need to use the AppleTV.
You can use any iOS device to access it and from there send (via AirPlay) to any AP device.
Of course you can do that with the Homepod as well.
However there is no way, that you can access/play from the 9000 using that.
What I have described as ‘linking the devices’ is a Bang & Olufsen feature.

Remember there are different ways to distribute music to multiple speakers (multi room).
B&O has long had its own protocol, called Network Link (NL).
Some B&O products (not the Beolab speakers) like the A9, M3/5, BS1/2 etc, which are one point music systems / speakers in their own right, can form part of a multi room Network linked experience, but are in the main also equipped with Airplay 2. So both options are available for multi room here.
Those speakers equipped with Airplay (your Eclipse and you Apple TV are both Airplay capable / receivers) can receive and play music from an Apple device (iPad, phone, Apple TV itself). When you start music playing on one of these devices, you can select numerous speakers (Airplay capable) from an iOS device to achieve multi room - very simple.
The difference with B&O's NL protocol is this - anything that is playing on a NL product (like your Eclipse) can be distributed. This can be done using the B&O app, a Beoremote, or physically tapping another NL product (like an M3 for ex), and it was just join in - what is playing on you Eclipse for example.
Its very easy - both ways are - though some (myself included) like the ability (with B&O's NL) to just wander into a room hands free and tap a product to get it to join something playing in a different room. For example if I have a record playing on my lunge turntable, I sometimes wander into my bedroom and just tap my A9, which will join in. (no need to reach for a phone / tablet).
Your 9000, if connected to your Eclipse, should be join-able in your conservatory in exactly the same way, unless there is a quirk I'm missing.

If would us a iPad/iPhone with all my music on, and push it true Airplay 2 to all my B&O speakers/TV.
Or you can start apple tv, and your itunes library and push the sound the other way, but feel that's its little bit old school. instead off use your phone/tablet as a remote control for your music.
Apple HomePod, i never try, but why not have a M5 instead :) Thats its little bit more expensive, but its wurth any extra money compare to m3.
