I have a pair of these listed locally on Craigslist to eliminate shipping cost but have received no interest.  I feel the price is VERY reasonable for these speakers and am not willing to go lower.  Would it be cost effective to list these on eBay?  They are extremely large and heavy.  Any suggestions or recommendations about these speakers would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Good speakers - you need more pictures though - do you have the frets? Why use the picture of mine from Beocentral? The wood finish is important so show what they look like. You also need more copy about them - these are probably the best passive speakers made by B&O - say so!  There is a very limited market for this sort of speaker as they are very large.

I think those speakers just aren't that well known (here in the US anyway).  I picked up a pair of MS150 speakers and a pair of MS150.2 speakers (just recently) in 2012.  on the MS150's I paid a little less than what you are selling for and a little more for the MS150.2's.  Both pairs of my speakers required refoaming too.  I also picked both of my purchases up.  I would have bought yours from you for the price you have listed. In my opinion that is a good buy for a B&O fan that wants some great speakers.  I would have expected a higher price than that for a working pair of MS150.2 speakers.  You should try Ebay with a "pick up only" for shipping and see what response you get.  As you said, those speakers are large and heavy and I would hate to see what the shipping costs would be.  Are you missing the grill covers?

One more thing.  Presentation is everything.  Take some more pictures and add something into the picture that people will recognize, like a chair or something so they can get a better feel of how large those speakers are.  A solo picture of one speaker alone doesn't really show off how monstrous the MS150.2 speakers are.  If you have the grill covers then show your set with them on and off.  Also, like Peter said, include some pictures that show off the wood grain (including the backs).

Speakers that need refoaming are worthless - yours have been refoamed so are good. As said above, these are not common so people need educating in what they are.To get an equivalent speaker today would cost several thousand pounds.

Thanks to all for the great suggestions!  I do have all six grill covers but some have slight damage as they are very fragile.  I will take more detailed pics and update the listing.  Perhaps I incorrectly assumed that any interested buyer would be a B&O fan that knew exactly what these are even though they are extremely rare.  These are some of the best sounding speakers I have ever owned and I have to admit that I really don't even want to sell them.  Happy wife, happy life!  ;)

The pegs on the grilles are rubbish! This speaker was from the era when B&O suddenly started using rotten plastic - the actual products were great - the 8000 system is a fantastic system - but the materials used were nothing like as good as the system before - compare the wood on the MS150s with M100s and they are like chalk and cheese. Equally, the wood finish on the BM8000 compared to the BM4400. Shame, as the acoustic qualities were just as good if not better.

"Why use the picture of mine from Beocentral?"

Whose are these speakers Peter? LOL.

I bought these speakers from Peter a couple of years ago and I hope I take them to my grave, in fact I'm sure they could easily be converted to a coffin after my demise - they are huge. But in the meantime I will enjoy listening to them every day - the sound they produce is sublime!

I would actually disagree with Peter (heresy, I know) but they're not worthless if they need refoaming -they're such good speakers that spending maybe £200 - £300 on getting them professionally refurbished would be money well spent.

I can't actually get the web address to work - it says "This posting has been deleted by it's author" have you changed your mind Sloterhouse5?

Cheers

I pulled the Craigslist post because I sold the speakers yesterday.  I feel that the buyer got a heckuva good deal and I'm sad to see them go.  Thanks, again, to everyone who posted.
