I would like to switch on my beo play m5 using My Beo time  alarm  is this possible? If so can you instruct me please?

I don’t think it is possible. The Beotime uses the ir commands like a Beo 4. The M5 receives Bluetooth commands such as from an Essence Remote or BeoRemote 1 bluetooth.

There's no easy way to do this.  If you are good with software people have managed to make B&O IR decoders on Arduino and other platforms.  It should be possible to write code that receives the IR codes and converts them to BlueTooth commands on an Arduino or RaspberryPi.

Sources: 2x Beosound Moment • 4x Beosound Essence Mk II
Speakers: 3x Beolab 8000 • 2x Beolab 6000 • 2x Beolab 3 • 3x Beolab 2
Integrated:  1x Beosound 2 • 1x Beosound Level • 4x BeoPlay M5 • 1x BeoPlay A6
Control:  16x* Essence Remote  • 1x Beoremote Halo

* Yes, really! 🤦‍♂️

A lovely idea. IR control (Beotime, Beo 4...) for the newer Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth products.

You would need an infrared to bluetooth converter.

Those things were / are available e.g. from Logitech and RE-BL (there's a PUC from B&O for the RE-BL, too) to control the Sony Playstation 3.

1.) RE-BL: http://www.re-bl.com/ (only PS3 as far as I know)
2.) ir to Bluetooth for Playstation 4: https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Receiver-Logitech-Harmony-Control-4/dp/B01K3VMBM0#customerReviews

But the question is if it is pairable to a B&O Bluetooth speaker and how it reacts.

Isn't there an alarm function in the M5? I know there is in the M3.

This is not the answer to your question, but it may solve your problem..
