I use an essence remote to control a Core. It has started causing a high-pitched metallic buzzing sound through the connected speakers when I use it.

The remote still works - it changes volume and turns the core on and off. But the buzzing sound comes through the speakers whenever the remote is used. Controlling the core through the app works fine.

The core software is up to date.

I’ve tried changing the batteries in the remote but this didn’t help. However I couldn’t try brand new ones as I don’t have any and I can’t get out right now as I’m self-isolating.

Any thoughts? Anybody else had the same?

That is a strange one. Don’t have any clue what it could be. Hope a solution can be found.

This only happens when using the Essence remote? Do you have a BR One BT lying around to test if that remote also triggers this sound?

Think your Core has developed an issue.

Can you try adjusting volume through the app and see if it makes the same sound?

It works fine when using the app Leo.

@1990, unfortunately I don’t have a BRone.

Well that’s weird. This morning things are working fine. I haven’t changed anything since yesterday. How odd. I’ll keep an eye on things and see how they go.

My Essence, Core and M5 were acting weirdly today also. I could not get any of them to play. Internet was fine in my home. V1 and Beosound 5 were working normally. I tried them a little later and the M5 and the Core were working, but still the Essence did not. Eventually I unplugged the Essence and plugged it back in and it started working again. I checked to see if there were any software updates today, there were not.
