You can’t have them if you own beolab 50 or 90 or 5:s.

Listening to high volume is addictive. Yesterday was the second time a neighbor came knocking on the door. Shout and swear, pull that damn base down. He lives 20 meters away in a separat house.

I really hate them neighbors.

As long as you have doors and windows closed, you should be fine.

Did you try to invite him over for a listening session (his own prefered music).....and a couple of beers?

I live in an appartement and I've never had a noise complaint about my speakers, Even when I am sure I am listening too loudly late at night. Maybe it's your neighbours more so than the speakers? Or do you listen to some death metal late in the day?Stick out tongue

I have had my 50s turned up to 64 which is as loud as I want, have gone outside with windows open, and sound is hardly noticeable, certainly nothing that would bother my neighbors. But, if I turned them up to 80, or 90.....it might be a different story.

I was once watching a movie where there was a quiet conversation between two soldiers, so I turned up the volume not knowing what was coming next. What came next? A plane bombed their camp. Result? My BL2 shook the room with such force that people in the garden next door thought something had exploded in my house Big Smile

I played Tomb araider with my old Pentas. Using the shotgun, I think an actual shotgun would have made less noise.

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"

I’d like to have the 90’s. I like to feel the music trough my bones.

I found this thread and I also live in an apartment, I have a corner apartment with my living room in the corner. Speakers are placed in the part of the room closer into the building playing towards one of the outer edges so to say.

I am worrying a bit for my neighbors too as these speakers are so much louder than my Beolab 20 that I used previously.

Do you also have neighbours below and above you and have you still not had any complaints? I am really considering if I should sell the speakers if I would get any issues. If they call for a guart then its a several hundred euros fee to be paid.

I have neighbours every direction, left right up/down etc. But my building is old fashioned steel reinforced concrete. The wall are something like 15cm solid so only contact noise carries. But i think said you haven’t tuned them yet? Untuned the bass was silly on mine, as in volume 38 with a hip hop song was way too loud for bass. My co-host for the podcast, Henrik, measured his and when untuned treble was at ~60db in some bass tracks the bass was closer to ~100+db iirc. Tuning makes a huuuuuge difference and once tuned they’re magical. Also because tuning makes the room comp work as it’ll know your room, corners and such amplify bass a lot and that will all be taken out once tuned.

Michael, by “tuning” do you mean using a calibration mic and utilizing built-in room analysis and correction software?

Luckily the only neighbours we have are the horses in the field next door and they don't seem bothered when I occasionally "blow the dust" out of the Beolab 90s.

Neither 50s or 90s bother my neighbours (but be super careful with the bass if on together ) and I live in a first floor  apartment.

My max playing volume is around 62 playing either 50s or 90s for music but the volume and bass needs to be carefully managed with both on when playing films - it is loud! :-)
