Edge instead of a Stage as a 'soundbar'?

This could be an utterly stupid question, but I'm thinking of buying an LG C9. I'd be tempted with the Eclipse, if they moved up to a newer OLED panel. Madness they still expect £7000 in 2020 for the same panel shipped 3 years ago.

But, I digress. My question...

I own an Edge which is in my living room. My assumption is this is similar technology to the Stage. Both connect in the same way to the B&O app and both can be used as your TV speaker through the BV11 or Apple TV.

Does this mean someone with an Edge could use it with LG C9 as a 'soundbar' like the Stage?

My biggest concern is a lack of BeoRemote support for the Edge.

Wouldn't the Edge need to be under (or near enough) the TV?

Can't quite see how that setup would be desirable, unless I am missing something

I’d expect some sound sync issues there.

For tv sound the Stage will be superiour by far.

The Edge can be controlled with a BeoRemote One/bt.

Why not wait for the expected Eclipse ‘MK2’?

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Where it's positioned right now it would be almost next to the TV, much like a subwoofer. I just wondered if you could use the TV as a 'centre' and the Edge as kind of soundbar, rather than buying an Stage in the same room. I guess I can move the Edge elsewhere, just seems a bit daft to have such a good speaker right next to where the TV will be located....then move it.

It's an option, but the dealer I spoke to said it's not coming soon. It's not even reached producton. With the covid-19 delays (think MacBook 14" delayed from 2020 to 2021 etc), can't see the Eclipse MK2 coming soon.

Other options is just the LG C9 + Stage. Already have a spare BeoRemote.

If the rumours are true,

There should be a good chance that you could upgrade from the Stage to Eclipse later.

I would go for the C9 or CX now with the Stage, and then see what the future brings.

You would miss the Beoremote with the Edge for sure.
