Hi,
I have a Beogram 4004 that I got via this forum some 10-15 years ago (Is Clevie still here?). It was gradually starting to become more erratic with slowing down and erratic speeds on both 45 and 33. But more recently got dealt a blow when I tried closing the dust cover to discover it was broken (photos below)
I hope I can get some help (I am in no way capable of electronic repairs!)
1. I'm based in the uk. Is there someone I can send to have this repaired/serviced?
2. If I need to buy a machine for a new dust cover, are there other parts I should make sure are reusable within it to fix the speed issue?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Kevin
Just a thought, when was the platter belt last changed?
This can cause all sorts of speed problems if ithe platter belt is more than t10-15 years old, could be a simple fix. Ask Dillan/Martin for the correct belt.
If all else fails, I have an old Beogram 4000 cover, complete and working but quite scratched. Never got round to polishing it.
By the way, I live in the UK.

Hi Keith,
Thanks for your reply. Life got in the way a bit but I'm back on this now!
I've not changed the platter belt at all so I will follow up with Dillan/Martin as you suggest.
Re the cover. I feel like perhaps the lid has a spring that has gone on one side? There's an awful lot of tension on the left side of the mechanism - though that might be because of the lid no longer being attached?
How much would you like for the cover, if you still have it?
Thanks
This is a good post that shows details about a Beogram 400x dust cover, broken hinge problem (and repair).

Thanks. I'm not quite handy enough to make the clamps but and do the repair, but it was an excellent read!
Back in December 2020, there was this post on the forum regarding new, replacement dust covers for the Beogram 400x turntable.
Great, thanks. My concern at the moment is if I replace the lid, is there a hing problem that will l break the new lid.
I'm going to put the deck in for a service though so should find that out I've had it 10 years now without servicing!
