Hi there,

I have a beomaster 1200 and I need to clean the potentiometers. I have noticed that they are pretty hard to remove from the actual machine in terms of removing the circuit board.

Is it best to desolder them form the circuit board, clean and then solder back into place, or can they be cleaned in place.

The only concern I have is that if I clean them in place then all the dirt and dust will just get spread around the rest of the machine? I am also a little unsure of what cleaning fluid to use?

Any advice of help would be fantastic.

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt,

Sorry, but they will have to be dismantled to be cleaned thoroughly.

There are many 'miracle' contact cleaners that will seem to work... for some time, before it gets even worse.

Just take everything apart, as per service manual, and don't blow anything, just clean and reassemble.

I wish I had better news or an easier method ! Wink

Ha ha thanks Jacques for the reply. Even though it made me sad :)

no problem though. Have a bit of time on my hands and it’s great learning all this.

cheers
