Hi

My current set up is Beosound 9000 mk2  with input to a Beoiab 2 with output through Beolab 8000's.

I have a recently acquired a Beosound 5 / Beomaster 5, 1 TB and have attempted to connect the Beomaster  to the Beosound 9000 via Master Link and hear no sound when I select NMusic on the Beosound 5 but do when I select Radio.

Research into this issue as led me to believe that my BeoSound 9000 mk2 is not compatible with NMUSIC a software update is required to the BS9000.

I have 2 questions here :

1) Is my research correct and if so if there is a workaround to this issue

Thanks

Nigel

RADIO should work in any case - it`s a BS9000 source.

Did you set your BS5 to NO AUDIOMASTER ?

If yes, you should have N.MUSIC and N.RADIO as sources on BS5 (and maybe A.AUX)

BS9000 has CD and RADIO as sources.

When you activate your BS5 selecting N.MUSIC, BS9000 should also start, displaying N.MUSIC (same wit N.RADIO).

Have done that and still no joy. I am attempting to listen to music by using the wheel and dial on the Beosound. Obviously when I play a CD I select CD on the Beosound 4 Remote. Do this need to be  configured / updated  in any way

The BS9000 has at least software version 2.0.

It needs 2.21A for Nmusic features.

Thanks that's initially what I thought from my research, this appears to be a chip change.

I myself need someone to do this for me, unsure if the chip can still be purchased though.

I live in Hertfordshire so hopefully  there may be someone near to do this for me

Please let us know if if chips are still available. I have a Beosound 3000 that I use with my Beosound 5. The Beosound 3000 does not have the newest chip so it does not have option 5 and option 6 available. My Beosound 5 works fine now for both N Music and N Radio. However, I have to have the Beosound 3000 set as the Audio Master and the Beosound 5 set to Audio Master No. If the chip is still available, I could then set the Beosound 3000 to Option 5 or 6, and then could make the Beosound 5 the Audio Master, which I would prefer. I have assumed chips were no longer available so have never seriously pursued the upgrade.
