You are correct that the Beo5 Configuration Tool will ONLY work on 32 bit Windows operating systems.

There is currently no update..

Is your Beo5 recognized by the device manager?

If so, and still the Beo5 service tool doesn't recognize the Beo5, it is because of the driver certificate.

I did this.

Press F8 to start windows 7 with the option "use drivers without cerificate". Then the Beo5 config tool works.

You'll have to use Windows XP mode and then install the configuration Tools.

It's work with this mode, the only thing you'll have to do is to connect the USB during the transfer.

hi,

just wait a few days....

B&O announced a new Config Tool for week 18/19....

there should be a new FW (v3) for beo 5/6 an dthe SW should

work on windows7 64bit....

The only thing to be done is, to upgrade the FW V3 on a 32bit system,

after that it will be recognized on a 64bit system....

im a bit impressed that you run Windows 7 on just 1Gb ram (!) and with that small amount of memory there is no need for windows 64-bit. If you have less than 4GB ram, then 32-bit OS is absolutely enough.

Perhaps a bit off topic but thats how it is anyway :)

But, of course, Mac is better anyways ;)

Hello,

the new ConfTool V6 is launched with the new FW V3.

It works with the Beo6 together on 64 bit Systems.

Cheers,

Whilst B&O have released the new version 6 of the configuration Tool which supports 64 bit machines, BUT only for the Beo6, NOT the Beo5

Also, the Beo6 MUST have its firmware upgraded on a 32 bit machine BEFORE using on a 64 bit machine. The reason is that the current firmware in your Beo6 is still looking to receive data in 32 bit format.

Once your Beo6 has had its firmware upgraded for use on 64 bit machines, theres no going back, well not unless you are very technically knowledgeable.

How strange is that if it really is true? It should work good both on 32 and 64 bit computers. You dont need to buy a 64-bit printer to work with 64bit operating systems for example. Or anything else. If it is like that I really dont understand what the developer has done.

Is there an option to keep the FW in 32 bit mode?

Are there any new functions in the FW and/or the config tool?

Didn't see anything for FW, but the tool now includes the BeoPlay.
