I know that a BeoRemote 1 through a BeoSound Stage can control an LG C7/C9 and now CX tv.

The LG GX Gallery Design TV looks even more super slim that an CX - so i wondered whether the GX TV's would also be able to be controlled by the BeoRemote 1 through a BeoSound Stage ?

Im looking at moving on from BV7-40 - and now I know that (thanks to STBrackets) I can get a VESA bracket for my BV7-40 stand to attach the LG screen, and also a separate bracket to attach the BeoSound Stage - i could geta  B&O driven experience but with a top of the line OLED screen.

The GX looks to be even more slim line than the CX - minor for something thats going to hang on a B&O stand - but if it works....

Anyone got a GX + Beosound Stage - or have a way of knowing if the B&O app in the LG WebOS app store could run on a GX (and presumably have the same HDMI ARC & Ethernet connections)

LG CX LG CX 55 inch 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ®

I love the fact that I can continue to use the BV7 stand with a new TV .... awesome job STBrackets guys ...

Nothing official out by now.....as far as I know.

(And noone has tried it yet, I guess).

But it would be obvious to include the GX models.

I guess it depends on the deal, that B&O has made with LG.

As the 2020 BV Harmony are based on a GX panel, you can be sure to find the B&O app on the LG GX TVs.

I’ve just bought one from B&O Carlisle, so I hope it does. I’ve gone for the GX 55” + Stage + BeoRemote bundle.

If you read the B&O support area on the website it states the Stage + LG combo supports the BeoRemote from the L9 and ‘newer models’. The GX 55" is going where the BV11-40 was located in my kitchen.

https://support.bang-olufsen.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010383599-How-to-connect-LG-OLED-TV-with-Beoremote-One-

"If you have a LG C9 OLED TV (or a newer compatible version) you can use Beoremote One to fully control both the TV and Beosound Stage"

I've told B&O Carlisle that my intention is to go for the GX65" as a replacement for the now-dead BV12-65 in my other room, if the above pack works smoothly.

so never say 100% if you have not confirmed it... it does NOT work! I have been at my shop today and they tried to installed the GX with the Stage. Complete disaster! looks like the Same procedure/experience when the Harmony/Stage came out, LG needs to update their firmware, B&O theirs, their will be USB stick in between before LG releases the software via download. potential release date mid of July (yes, this year...)

Well, this will be interesting when my GX + Stage + BeoRemote arrives, sold from an official B&O dealer!

Mid-July?!

Would it be the first time products have been sold without full spec functionality?

That said, the app will be able to control the screen soon enough, even if July slips a bit

According to B&O Carlisle this morning, it DOES work. It just doesn't have B&O app support yet. But they say they have a GX + Stage + BeoRemote setup in their showroom as of yesterday.

"Yes, it will 100% work with Stage as we have done it.The B&O app is pending being added by LG but it won’t be far behind at all. Then it will just continue to work as it does with the C9 panel."

There certainly is a simplicity to the GX - but for a TV that is going onto an older BV7-40 stand (and likely never on a wall) - im still in two minds whether to go for the CX with the really thin upper half and the bulky bottom half.

After chatting with Premium Sound in Melbourne during the week - ive also started to think whether the Eclipse Soundcenter 55" at AU $6.5k makes sense to add to the LG tv - as it should mean i can still reuse my lab 6000's which are still going strong.

Luckily the speaker (Stage or standalone Eclipse Sound Center) can be a later decision - i'll get the TV first - then the STBrackets to attach to the BV7 stand.

I gotta say that B&O really dont advertise the standalone Eclipse Sound Center existence at all .... Ive asked for a spec sheet for it so ican see dimensions and mounting options - hopefully to get some way to attach to the BV7 stand too..

Its great to have choices ...

I did not realize that was an option. If you get a spec sheet, please let us know the details.

Well that is a really good point. When buying the Stage, I was never offered this "SoundCenter" option. Now I have C9 65 and Stage on BV7/40 stand and it is wonderful. If I ever get an offer to upgrade to the "next-gen" SoundCenter that is mountable to the STB mount... well I would!

Does anybody know the retail price of the sound centre in Europe (Netherlands)?

If I convert AUD 6.5k, it works out just below €4k, which is less than I expected.

Any insights?

That seems to beetje basic retail price cut in half? Relative price of the screen must be much less than that what Luxussound is stating.

What's the list price for the Eclipse Soundcentre?

Was considering picking up a Stage but would like the ability to upgrade to surround sound.

I thought exactly the same thing - it's clearly designed to accompany the Eclipse. Why would someone want this? And for that price? I'd just get a Stage!

Surely it's the bottom part of the Eclipse screen (or a dummy part)?

And PUC control, if or when it will work proper with cx/gx it will be a great buy compared to the Stage

Can definately recommend the Eclipse SoundCenter approach if you can get hold of one. Hardest part is figuring out the bracket.

Using 55 SC with C9 65, 2 PUC controls and a pair of 8000s + Lab 2.

That’s great - can finally see one !

Can you share :

1) mounting bracket - did you use the B&o mounting or custom ?

2) did it work out of the box with the c9!? I’ve been reading about updates required for the Cx/GX and wondered if you had software issues getting the sound centre with the c9

Bracket is custom: cost 10 EUR. Will post details later.

Software: out of the box. Just need to install the BO app on the LG

Ok so I've had this Eclipse SC + C9 setup for about 2 months now. Bought the SC from a dealer. The 55 inch SC is significantly cheaper than the 65 but hardware is the same, to me the 55 + 65 C9 works well visually.

Software wise, you only need to install the B&O app on the C9 from the LG store. From that point you can pair a BeoRemote and configure everything in the app or via your web browser (very convenient! as you can make changes live as you hear the sound from various sources...)

Hardware wise, you have 2 options:

1) Buy a wall bracket (fixed) for 800 EUR from B&O, buy a separate 3rd party wallmount for the C9.

2) Make your own bracket with stuff from the hardware store and use the original screen mounting brackets as anchor points, you will also need to buy a 3rd party wallmount for the C9.

In both cases, you will need some fine adjustments to get a "unified" look and hide your custom, ugly bracket behind the C9. Give yourself a chance with a rotating/height adjustable C9 mount so it's easier to adjust.

I would also like to note that from the looks of it, a 55 inch C9 would fit perfectly on the original screen mounting bracket (see pic). Which means that you can very likely use B&O brackets with a C9 if it's the same size as your Sound Center. Because I opted for a 65 C9 and a 55 Sound Center, it will not fit as there as plastic stoppers at the end of SoundCenter made to fit a 55.

Thanks for the pics @flatwhite - awesome to share this and it really helps my decision process.

In the first two pictures - those brackets that anchor into the TV and provide vertical screw holes (assuming to screw directly into the soundcentre if you had a LG C9 55 & soundcentre 55) - did you make those or are they the standard B&O supplied brackets with the sound centre?

Reason i ask is that I’ve got a LG CX 55 and if the base shape is similar enough to a LG C9 55 - i may be able to just use the brackets you show in the first two pictures to anchor the soundcentre to the screen - with no further additional screws and brackets ...

One last request - can you post a side view of your screen & soundcentre ? Depending on the depth of the soundcentre - I may not have enough depth between the LC CX (hanging off STBrackets attached to BV7 stand) and the BV7 stand its on.

Yes the brackets in the first pictures are supplied as part of the SC to attach the C7 and as you can see a C9 would also be able to attach there. Meaning you can very likely use standard mounting options if you have a C9 of the same size as the Soundcenter.

The depth of the SC is really up to you and how you assemble that bracket.

Hi 'flatwhite'. I just saw your very interesting postings about the combination of the SC and LG TV's. Unfortunately the link to the pictures is not working. Any reason for this? Could you provide these pictures on another platform (dropbox, google fotos etc.)? Thx.
