Hi Guys, I bought my Beo 2300 in 1992, I Miami Florida, and broght it to Colombia, zero Representation in Colombia for this brand in 1992.
4 days ago i decide to do some maintennace becuse the door and cd cover are not working right.
So i opened taking out the 7 screws that hold the back cover, the plastic inside is critalized and britled so many parts just falled apart like a puzzel. sevral screws had broken plastic nuts the support for tyhe door assembly was loose and broken, the corne top screws nut holders were also broken evry time i handle or touch something it will brake even the bridge with the springs that hold the cd motor and bay broke . .
The sound elctronics were working fine before i attemptd this, it takes sometime sometimes to get going until warm but sound good and was ok. So what do i do now. well i am an rc modeler. the only thing i have here at home is glue, wood glue, silicone glue and cyanocrylate, my rc wookshop is at another loation, cant go there becuse of cuarentine.
so thats what i had, plus some plastic from a polaroid camera box, scssor , and some tools. here arethe pictures and video feel free to ask anything.-
take a look at the images and video
Sorry about the order the forun is not to intuitive.
above image is after finishing and at play again.
after closing back i nitced i forgot to put this spring back again after building the base for the bridge screws. so has to open again and put the springs in place.
this is where the base broke for the bridge screws so just filled slowly layer by layerr until i could drill a hole.
this part was loose completely both ends had fracture so build the new support and now is strong again, its the door opening board and motors.
here is testing before going back to living room
the base here was also broken this screw was loose so just made a plastic nut to make a good ground fro that wire.
how do i put th eimages and video of self repair
Great work - I had to do something very similar when I purchase a BC2300 on eBay several years ago. It was delivered in the middle of winter, when plastic is very brittle, and I suspect it was dropped in transit! It now works fine, and looks very good from the outside despite the amount of expoxy used inside.
I fitted an RDS board to mine last week (see here: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/189/309274.aspx#309274) and still found lots of broken plastic in the bottom of the BeoCenter when I removed the Power Supply and tuner boards! It is lucky that they have not got caught in the door mechanism.
super, this one hs the belts in bad shape so dont work as soon is this is over will go to get replacment s here there in tecnitian for such a fien equipment. sound is good though
what does the rdf module do?
RDS = Radio Data System - see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Data_System
I fitted it in order to get the 'programme identification', so the the display screen comes up with (eg) BBC R2, rather than just the preset number (see photo below). I don't think that the BC2300's RDS module is capable of any other the other RDS features listed at the link.
Two things to note:
