Hello,

New into the B&O world so finding my way around. Have a turntable and cassette deck, now looking at a CD player. Lack of work due to virus means no big spending. Have a chance to get s CD 3300 for £80 or a CDX for twice that. The CD X is outside of my planned spend, but is it worth paying the extra?

Any thoughts/recommends much appreciated.

The CD3300 and it's "alter ego" CDX2,were sucessors to the legendary CDX.

They were more "stripped down" whereas the CDX was arguably overengineered.

The CD3300 too, being designed to integrate with the Beosystem 3300,featured datalink remote control.

Technically the later machines should be better sounding, but many of us here, prefer the sound quality of the CDX,but it's  a subtle difference.

Any of the machines are a good investment to add to your collection, but watch out for problems with the top loading lid assembly in all cases. The left hand hinge can fail, and there is (so far?)no replacement available.

More info in the products section on site.

Thanks for the information. I went for the 3300 and got it for £60 compared, which was a 1/3rd the price of the CDX. All looking good so far.
