Beosound 5 / Beomaster 5 - Wireless

Anybody with a Beosound 5 / Beomaster 5 setup able to make a Wifi connection as a opposed to a Wired connection. If so would they be kind enough to share their solution

Do you mean using wireless to BM5 instead of a cable?

I have mine wired to an airport express.  Works great.

I found a wireless USB dongle many years ago, but it is hard to find one today with drivers for WindowsXP today.

Yes correct, I currently use an Ethernet cable.

The Sandberg wifi dongles does usully have XP support and no need for extra drivers.

I now have obtained a compatible wireless dongle how do I add it to my network

You have to start the BS5 service menu and enter windows xp and connect it to your network

Yes that is correct. There is USB in the back of BM5

Just use any wireless access point / repeater with an Ethernet / LAN port. set it up for your wireless network and connect it with a LAN cable to your Beomaster 5 and you're ready to go and you avoid messing around with the Beomaster 5 software.

An Example is the Airport Express or other small access points.

Agree - that would be a better and easier solution.

Thanks for your help here. I will go down the Wireless Dongle route. If that fails will try an Airport Express
