Happy new year,

ok, not for me ;-)

My Beomaster 5 + Beosound 5 combo stopped playing during listening to some background music. The display is completely dead and only the red Led lights up on the Beosound 5.
On the Beomaster 5 I can hear the harddrives spinning and the Led on the backside switches to green.

That's all it does, no reaction to anyhting... :-(

I bought it in May 2009 when it came out and I would guess it's the faulty mainboard the first units did suffer from.

Is there any chance B&O would repair it under warranty or is it simply bad luck for me? Tought times where B&O units just live 3 and a half years ;-)

Have you tried a reset?

How can I reset the unit?

What I did:
I disconnected the power for more than 12 hours, I tried the powerreset (hitting the power button a few time) but it didn't work.
Display does not show anyhting. :(

My Feb 2009 unit died in August 2010... Motherboard. As you have the first board out of an equally early batch you should get policy, ie coverage for replacement...

Im sorry to hear of your loss with the encore.

Mine was faulting from day one - losing power and not repowering up. And after a few months of ownership, it was officially classed as dead on arrival.

I hope they are able to help you out with a replacement while yours is being serviced.
