Hello to all,

I am a proud owner of BL 6000 and I am waiting for Beosound 3000 with BL 2500. Is it possible to link all these together? In the future I have a plan to add a pair of BL8000 and BL 2 sub to complete the system. The question is the same again. Is this even possible or i can easily put mine 2500s away and use "only" 6000s, 8000s and BL 2 on Beosound 3000. I must confess I am new to this Hi Fi world and this BEO cable world is a mystery to me.

Thank you for any answer or a člink to good reading.

What you're hitting upon is one of the greatest features of Bang & Olufsen! You can create "link" rooms to add speakers that can access your music system throughout your home. That's what the masterlink cable socket is for. You can run a length of masterlink cable to another room and connect the cable to a BeoLink Active box. This is just a black box to which you connect your speakers and an IR receiver. You can usually find them second-hand for under $100. Be sure you get the round aluminum IR receiver with it. You can then use your B&O remote control to activate those speakers in that room and play the source. The speakers in the "main" room where your music system is do not have to be on when you play in a link room. You can also activate/deactivate the link room speakers via the physical buttons on the IR receiver.

Thank you for this explanation. BEO world is getting more and more interesting. Well I have an update :) I found Beosystem 2500 with another 6000. So now I am settled with 2 pairs of 6000 and and 2500 unit. I will link these for start and give it a try. However, I do feel I will sell one pair of 6000 and rather get 8000. If there will be still some lack of bass I will use BEO 11 or BEO 2.

PS: Does anyone know how does 2 pairs of 6000s preform?

Cheers
