I have a Beosystem 2500. After sounding great for 15 or 20 minutes of radio or tape, noise that I would describe as static comes from the right channel speaker. You can still hear the music but also the static. I have switched left to right channels and the cables, but the problem stays with the right speaker. If I turn off the system and wait a bit, then turn it on again the sound is good for a while until the static comes back. I suspect that a component is heating up and then causes this. Does anyone have experience with this or some information that can direct me to the possible source of the problem? Thanks.
I had a similar problem once on a BM3000 (I think it was a 3000) and it turned out to be a noisy transistor in the amplifier section of one channel, warms up and starts misbehaving....I tracked it down using a scope and it turned out to be nothing more than a poor connection, as I recall I swapped it with the same transistor in the other channel expecting the problem to show itself in the opposite channel and it didnt! but as the noise had now gone away I put it down to a poor solder connection expanding/contracting under the heat from load......another member here said he traces such problems by using a freezer spray on each transistor but haven't tried that.
