Beomaster 3000-2 or alternative

Hi, I have recently acquired a 1203 turntable and set of 3702 speakers. I now need to decide on a suitable amp and there were suggestions of a beomaster 3000-2 but this seems to get mixed reviews.

I have an opportunity to pick up a working 3000-2 for c£70. What is the general consensus on this or should I hold out for something such as a 4400?

A BM3000-2 based Beosystem made me fall in love with B&O.

The sound is very immediate, dynamic, almost raw. The BM grabs the speakers by the you-know-whats and makes them sing.

I think that this is due either to the Darlington transistors used, or the lack of coupling capacitors. Someone more technical will be able to explain exactly why. But I just love the sound signature.

The 4400 I haven’t heard, but will be capable of greater output power. I imagine it will be “the same but more so”.
