Hi Beoworlders,
Had a couple of questions regarding the integration of the Beomaster5 into a BV9. The BV9 has had the Beomedia1 running in it with little or no issues, after upgrading the HDD to 2TB and changing the capacitors to 16v\1000uF on the internal power board. Everything is working smoothly.
I recently acquired a Beosound5 / Beomaster5 with a view to swapping out the Beomedia1.
Having upgraded the HDD on the BM5 to a 1TB SSD without any issues, managed to present the BM5 to the BV9 using VGAtoDVI connectors and various other cable mods. Powered on the BV9 and blew a CPU capacitor on the mainboard of the BM5. Fixed this using the same 6.3v/1500uF component and retested, setting the BM5 unit as an audio master (option 2). Got the selection screen on the BV9 and using the Beo4 remote and a keyboard, managed to scroll through the setting to fine tune.
Tried to change the screen to 1920x1080 (HD), but this just gave wavy lines, eventually settled for 1360x768 which seemed stable (had tried this on an external monitor and had no issues changing to HD).
But the more serious concern was when selecting N.Music off the BV9 screen, the media interface didn't show correctly and the BS5 display showed pause? When selecting or playing music from the BS5, there was no issue, played and displayed correctly.
Have I selected the incorrect option for the AudioMaster setting? The manual states 0,1 and 2 but I have also options 5 and 6?
Can I have the BS5 connected as well as the connection to the BV9? I was really hoping that I could, as really impressed with the design of the interface.
Any help gratefully received.
If you use only the BM5 without the BS5, then you will be able to the screen of the BV9 as remote for the BM5.
As soon as you connect the BS5, then the screen becomes only a kind of status. No control via the screen.
Thanks Beobuddy. I feared that that was the case. I think I'll keep them as they are.
