Hi all,

I would be quite interested in a comparison between the Beolab 18 and the Beolab Penta speakers. And also how Beolab 18 perform paired with the Beolab 19 against how the Penta perform.

I haven't been able to find any reviews/comparison between these - I hope someone can share their experience.

Victor

If you are into bass, pairing the Beolab 19 to the Beolab 18's is definitely a good choice. The 18's are great sounding and of course, very sleek looking. Unfortunately, they do not even deliver the bass that that the 8000's barely delivered.

sorry for question ..but..do you wish to say that BL18 have less bass than BL8000 ?

I have just BL8000 not BL18 so it's theoretical question :)..for me that is strange as in specs. list that is total oposite.

I'd also like to know if the BL18's have less bass than the BL8000s!

I don’t, had both. The bl18’s are improved in every sense but it may be less noticable as the mids and treble are so much better. The 8000’s sound a bit wooly in comparison

Still interested in how they perform compared to the Penta :-)

Would it be a step up if I moved from the Penta to the Beolab 18?

Having never heard the two together, I'd still say I'd expect the following:

The Pentas will have more/deeper bass

The Pentas will be far less picky about how far you sit away or how whether you are standing or how tall your listening chair is

The BL18s will be prettier, and new so hopefully less probability of failures

Hard to say on the rest.

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad
