I finally got speakers. I recently had a post about a Beogram 8000 with a cable that I needed. Now, for whatever reason it doesn't power up when I put the plug in the socket.. How screwed am I?

At some point it just decided to die. Did I do something wrong?

Check the fuse in the power unit.

I'm very bad with technology, how exactly do I do that?

Lift the right cover and from the under side, push up and out the power pack, you can then lift off the top cover of the power pack and inside you will find the fuse.

If you hadn't messed with the inside of the Beogram and it blew a fuse then I would expect the problem to remain. It is worth a try to change the fuse but it isn't something B&O expected a Beogram 8000 customer to have to do. It isn't mentioned in the user manual so if you are not comfortable with technical type things like that then I would hire a technician to do it.
