Hi,Purchased a Beomaster 4000 off of the European Auction site Catawiki. It has a few issues - it has a low hum sound that gets louder as it is in use (definitely coming from the receiver). I'm wondering if the caps need replaced from reading about this on other forums. The other issue is it tape 1 and phono input are only 1 channel. Have a phono preamp input being used out of Tape 2, but even there I can't quite tell but sounds like its a bit louder in the left channel.
Anway, I'm not someone who is the expertise to tackle fixing it. Would love to have it restored to a more optimal level. Does anyone know where the best place to have it fixed locally - I'm in Portland, Oregon. Asked one guy I've used before who fixes vintage equipment but said he won't even touch Bang and Olufsen since he said it's not supported. Anyone have recommendations as to the closest/best place to get it repaired? If I have to ship it out I would - I've seen Tek Media Group in Burbank,CA and someone in Louisiana (I believe) called Beolover who has his own site.
Thx
Friend of mine can probably help, but he's in Calgary Canada...
