Hallo,

I have a BeoVision 7 in my Office and wanted to send Audio from my Mobile to the BeoVision without turning it on. So I thought I could use my old BeoLink Converter 1611 (sw1.3) and connect an Aux cable to it and then connect my iPhone to it.

in General ist works  Bit the Audio sent from the Converter to the BV is extremely silent and los volume. Is there a was that the Converter sende a higher volume?

Living room: BeoVision 7 MKV + BeoLab 7-2 + 2x BeoLab 8000 + BeoLab 2 + 2x BeoLab 4000
Office / guest room: BV 7-32 MKIV / BL7-1; BeoSound Core + Turntable
Kitchen: BeoPlay M3
Bathroom: Gira Radio + BeoLab Celestial
Entrance: BeoPlay M3

Hi Tim84,

iPhones have quite low output. You may find that you need to set the volume to at least 75% to get decent output.

If you have an old Airport Express hanging around, you’ll find that it has a much higher output level, and you can then send music from your phone wirelessly.

hi Lawrence,

even when i try to connect a Beosound core the volume is so low that i have t set the volume of the to to Max to hear something. Am i doing something wrong or does it have to work in general? I use a five pin aux cable that works perfect on my ouverture.

Hi Tim,

Indeed, there may be something wrong with your 1611. I’m afraid I’m not technical enough to advise further on that.

The fact that the cable works between the Core and the Ouverture’s (Aux?) input suggests that it is fine.

The last thing I can suggest: when you connect the Core to the 1611’s Aux input, configure the Core to give a fixed level output from its Powerlink sockets. If the menu options allow, configure this to be as loud as possible.

If you can’t find this configuration option, again, turn up the volume on the Core to somewhere near the maximum (at least 75%).

Good luck, sir.

I am not quite sure how you have connected things?

Assuming you want to use the 1611 as a masterlink driver, you also must have it connected to the BV with a Masterlink cable.

Iin this case you must turn on the BV in order to hear anything from the speakers/BV7.

However,  you write that you don’t want to turn on the tv!

Also activating the converter would require the BV.

Please bring some more details.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Hi Millemissen,

the Converter 1611 is connected via masterlnk to the TV. The Core is at the moment connected to the 1611 via a 5 pin Din aux to RJ45 cable. When I press Music on Beoremote One the TV turns on, activates the Loudspeaker but the display stays offline (that is what I want). But the sound coming from the TV is super silent and remindes me of the sound from a vinyl player when you have no pre amp.

For me it sounds like wiring is connected output to output.

BLC 1611 has in and outputs on the AUDIO AUX LINK (7pin DIN) socket.

A simple way to test that, would be, to connect a 5 pin DIN - 4x rca adapter, connect the phone via mini jack -2x rca cable, and test the 4 different rca connections.

Hope this helps

Stefan

Is the AUX Link Port any different from the one from Beosound Ouverture?

I tried 5 different cables with my Beosound Overture and all work perfect but when I connect them to the BLC the audio is too quiet. I mean at full volume of the TV it is a whisper.

Btw. all cables are from steve so superb quality.Do I have to change something in the BLC? Is there a way to reset or program it new?

Hi,

is the TV connected via masterlink to the other rooms?

if so there's already an audiomaster in the ML network: The Ouverture! There can only be one audiomaster in a ML Network.

The BLC 1611 can only work as an audio source to your BV7 in the Office if the Office ML is not connected to the remaining ML network.

The TV is not connected to the Masterlink in the Livingroom. There is onlyy a connection between the Beovision and the 1611.

Okay, so i would do what Stefan said. Try a 5pin DIN to 4 RCA adapter.

Ok i was in munich  this Weekend and had the Chance to get a 5pin DIN - 4 Cinch Adapter from my parents. I have to say Stefan was right. This adapter works.

Does the Aux Link have a different pinset than the Aux Connection on the Beosound Ouverture?
