Hi all,

Since the new Stage stand I’m considering a replacement of my Horizon and looking for some user experience.

I’m looking into a LG C9/CX/GX 48-55” combo with Stage anthracite on the B&O stand and br1 black.

A few questions come to mind:

- Is there a big difference between the series C9-CX-GX?

- Do the netflix and prime buttons on the br1 work in this setup?

- Can I use the br1 for full tv control (same as on Eclipse/Harmony) or are there limitations?

- Does the LG screen support the Apple TV+ app?

- Any need for a AppeTV 4K or is the combo up to date?

- Does the stage have a alarm function same as BS 1/2?

- When stage is joint in multiroom, does screen turn on and is there any metadata on the screen?

- Overall, can it be considered as a BV Eclipse, apart from the true image sound processing and speaker connection part?

Many thanks for sharing.

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

From most of the reviews, I think the picture quality difference between the C9 and CX is incredibly marginal.

The processing of just above black is supposed to be a bit better, but thats about it.

The LG processing has come a good way since the C7 to now, but from last year to this year it seems its just the above.

No idea re the rest I'm afraid.

Fansastic:

- Is there a big difference between the series C9-CX-GX?

CX/GX is faster (updated CPU) than the C9. CX is designed for stand mounting, whereas the GX is ultra-flat and designed for wall mounting, with the wall mount hidden in the back of the TV, so it looks like it's flush to the wall!

I have a GX 55" and 65". I'd always go bigger with an LG. Unlike a BeoVision, they have almost no borders at all, so look 'smaller'. ie. the size of the GX 77" is about the same footprint of my old BV12-65 which it replaced. In hindsight, I wish I'd gone for the 77". The 65" looks much smaller in comparison.

If it was between a C9 and CX for stand mounting, I'd go for the C9 and save some money.

The LG has Apple TV as an app on the TV! You might not need a separate Apple TV.

The Stage puts nothing on screen at all. It's just a pass-through device.

I think you lose the Puc if you want to control 3rd party box

1: Yes but minimal.

2. Yes they work just fine

3. Yes everything works except for puc but cec works for aptv and the like.

4. Yes both c9 and c/gx have the aptv app

5. What do you mean? What do you want to do?

6. Yes you van set alarms in the stage

7. No, the screen stays off in music mode unless the source is the tv.

8. More or less, yes, imho.

Thanx guys for the feedback. Seems this combi can be considered as a very good replacement of my Horizon.

I do not need the extra sound processing of a real beovision in my user case and as a AppleTV is not needed I can minimise the amount of cables!

Now I need to rethink the screen size, the CX 55” is cheaper then the GX 48” and think a C9 55” is even cheaper.

Won't matter in NL, but another GX/CX difference is ATSC 3.0 support.  Future NA search-ers might care about this tiny bit of future-proofing -- if it works, because there only stations in Portland, Nashville, & Las Vegas to test against...

Whether you need Apple TV 4 depends on what you need. The Apple TV app can only stream movie from Apple, you cannot install other apps like a physical ATV. Kinda confusion when they use the same name for two different things.

BL8000, BL10, BL4000, BL2, BL3 (Sold), Beocentre 2 (Sold), Beosystem 3, LG C8

Ive got a CX in Australia - and the LG has all the Apps that I’d used the Apple TV Box for..... that said if there was another app I’d needed that wasn’t on LG I’d plug an Apple TV back in.

I'm interesting in this setup (Stage/LG 65'') especially the control with BR1.

I have now a Panasonic with connection hub, TR1, Beolab 18/19 and Beosound Moment.

Is there an option to connect the Beolab 18/19 and Beosound Moment to the Stage/LG combi???

I know the LG has WISA, works it fine with Stage as a center speaker and Beolab 18/19 together?

Don’t think it will work to have 18’s wisa connected to the LG and use the stage same time. There is no sound processing in the LG.

The stage and moment with BL18/19 can be connected though multiroom

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I was afraid for that.

Is it possible to control the LG directly with the BR1 without the Stage?

LG has a WISA module I've seen, with equalizer etc... Maybe a Almando Surround box is the better solution

Are you looking for a surround sound system? The LG/Stage will act as an very good 2.0 TV setup, For true surround you need both front and back speakers and sub.

For music the stage and Moment+BL18 can act together and provide a good sound stage!

I don’t think the LG/Stage can act as an surround system with a Almando surround box. Maybe someone else can comment on this

I have the 18/19 combo connect to the TV and BS Moment, Stage is not necessary when I can control a LG with BR1 without stage.

I would expand in future with back surrounds.

So at the moment I have an 2.1 setup and want to upgrade the tv and later to 5.1 all control by BR1. I think it's impossible.....

I think it's LG/Stage with BR1 or LG/Almando without BR1.

Stage and 18/19 both connect to tv seems a problem
