I am new to the world of B&O. I just recently bought my BeoLab 20. I am trying to create a 5.1 setup. BeoLab 20 in front & 17 in rear. I will be using marantz 7705 and transmitter 1 To connect them to my projector Optoma Cinemax P1. I am trying to figure out which center speaker to use. I have read many threads on this forum where people have recommended 7.4/7.2/7.6. However, Is it a good idea to use any other brand center speaker? Has anyone tried it?if yes which brand Do you recommend?

Why not a BeoLab? The 7-1s come really cheap now (with a BV7 attached to it)
I also managed to collect a 5.1 system of BeoLab speakers, using a BeoLab 7-1 for center. I am really pleased with it. Be aware that the 7-1/2/6 are stereo speakers, and the 7-4 is not, it has a very different shape and an acoustic lens (as your 20s have). A more rare, but I believe more powerful BeoLab center speaker is the BeoLab10, also with the acoustic lens technology. This speaker is visually much more present than the others, but could look stunning.

woukd having a dedicated centre speaker better than using stereo speaker? I cannot use 7-4 as aesthetically it won’t fit in the current setup.
i was thinking of using either klipsch credit 64 iii or kef htc8001. However, I am not sure if I am making The right decision
Not only does B&O need a BeoSystem 5, but B&O also needs to fill the absence of a center channel speaker in the current speaker selection. Does anyone else remember years ago when there as an interactive section of the B&O site where we could design a home theater and see have various configurations would look?
I have Beolab 9s as my fronts with a Beolab 10 as the center below a 3rd party 75 inch tv that can be covered with a motorized screen lowered when I want to use the projector in CINEMA mode. The Beolab 10 looks and sounds great with the Beolab 9s -- which look similar to the 20s. It's advisable when using a projector to have a dark wall where the screen is in order to avoid reflecting light. My wall is painted a dark grey, and the black Beolab 10 nearly disappears when watching movies. You can always recover the fret with fabric to match your wall if you want to.

Using a BeoSystem 4 AV processor, a subwoofer would not be used because the BeoSystem 4's bass management would redirect the LFE channel to the Beolab 20 speakers. With a 3rd party processor, however, you do not have B&O's bass management technology.

It all depends on which speakers you have. In the older version of the Technical Sound Guide, there was a great chart on the last page that showed which speakers would get re-routed bass from which subwoofers. If speakers handle the bass better than a dedicated subwoofer, those speakers get the LFE instead of the subwoofer.

The Speakers using now is BeoLab 1, Pentas and BeoLab 4000, and I’m about to hard BeoLab 19 with the System 4 just to get the 5.1 Surround Sound. I was going to go for the lab 17 and get raid of Pentas, but want to try this first!
You will definitely need a subwoofer with the Beolab 1 speakers. The lack of bass was a huge shortcoming of the Beolab 1.
Thanks for this information. Another question: if I am using marantz preamp 7705 then do I have to use center speaker with Amplifier? My local dealer told me that it has to be a powered center speaker if I want to use it with Marantz 7705
