Hi all,
I'll be moving soon and renovations will start shortly. I'm still in doubt about using KNX or Lutron for control of my systems and eagerly await the Halo launch, but one thing I'd like your advice on: the bathroom speaker.
The bathroom is quite small (5 m2) and features both a shower and a bath. So it can become quite humid. I know Willie is using his M3 in the shower anyway, but what are your preferred solutions?
Anyone with a Celestial in the bathroom? If so, which amp do you use? BeoVox 1 is impossible to find second hand. BeoLab 3500 can be done (I have a NL/ML converter), but I'm worried about the humidity again.
Now is the time to plan all the cabling etc, so please give me some advice!
I've used BeoLab 3500s in the bathrooms for over 15 years without any problems. I like having the Essence Wall Remote for control since it's not connected to the electricity. I can even reach from the shower and control the volume, etc.
I'm using a Beoplay M5 that sits on the bathroom counter. I have a Beosound Essence Remote mounted on the wall lust outside the shower door so I can control the M5 while in the shower. :)

I have a M3 on my bathroom counter, but will mount it on the wall in an upcoming remodel.
I’ve got a pair of BeoVox 1 (mounted in the hidden extra wooden boxes for better sound) in the ceiling. Looks really nice, but sometimes I look at the wall and think a BL 3500 would have been great there. As long as you don’t place it right over the shower there should be no problems with a BL 2000 or BL 3500.
I use a Beosound 2.
The M3 is a good natural choice. In my case, I use my P6 as a bathroom speaker. I use it via Bluetooth connected to my phone. It auto connects and it’s splash proof. My bathroom has an inbuilt usb charger so that helps as well. For a permanent solution, I’d pick an M3.

Ah. I was using my Beosound 1 but then got worried that the humidity might effect it. Since I have it on the dock, charging in the bathroom was good and it looks good as well. I switched it for the P6.
Like many other people here I have a BL3500 in the bathroom - since many years without problems, the only things changed, two new woofers after maybe 10-12 years , and the covers changes from black to white.
The guest toilet got a M3, triggered by a KNX motion sensor, so everytime someone enter the room, M3 starts playing a Tunein Jazz radiostation.
Only problem here was, that guests/friends like the music so much, that they stay at the toilet, just to listen to the music...:)
So I programmed the setup to set the M3 to standby after 5 minutes..:))

Cool! I'll see if I can do something similar for my bathroom. I'll pass on the ceiling speakers and think I will go for a regular speaker :)
Got an M5 on an STB wall bracket next to my sink. Very happy with it no humidity or any other issues.

It´s quite simple - I just used things that are already in my setup.
Beolink Gateway (using KNX driver), of course an ML/NL converter, M3
and a KNX motion sensor, ceiling mounted. The KNX sensor can do a lot, detection of motion for lights, detection of motion for alarm (security),
detection of motion for "HLK" (heating, ventilation, air condition) and a temperature sensor for fire alarm - all these functions have different outputs (group addresses) to control different functions.
To be honest, I just wanted to test the alarm function, because I plan to integrate this into my sec system, and I neede a device to be triggered, M3 wasn`t uses for anything, so I tesed it with the M3 - people liked the music, and so I kept the installation.
How to: KNX sensor`s alarm group address triggers a macro in the BLGW, that starts M3, source tunein, channel 9 (DR P8 Jazz)
second macro (event KNX motion detection stops) command : M3 - standby
this works independantly from the Masterlink system in the house - it is also possible to trigger a ML source on the M3.

In my master bathroom have a Beolab 11 and a pair of Beovox 2.2 in the ceiling powered by two channels of a BeoAmp 16. I’m using an Essence mk2 as the source. The audio from the Essence mk2 passes to the Beolab 11 (which has a crossover built in) and then goes to the BeoAmp 16 to power the Beovox 2.2. This is probably something of an unconventional paring, but it works very well and sounds incredible together. For completeness, I should mention there is also a 32” Beoply V1 by the tub, but that’s another story. Frankly, of all the amazing B&O equipment I’m fortunate to have in my home, the system in my master bathroom is easily the most used and probably my favorite.

Hi there - if you are using indigo a MLGW or BLGW would be fine. The MLGW is available at a good used price these days (I actually have one for sale) and there is an indigo plugin available. Phil developed the first version and I’ve made some developments. You’re welcome to a copy of the plugin if it would help.
WOW thanks for the idea. I have a BeoLiving Intelligence, so I'm going to setup the guest bathroom to play music when the light state changes to on (as I already have a hue motion sensor in the room) and get the music to play for say 5 mins
