Good afternoon,
In the comments section of the link kindly given by Millemissen, it was mentioned that these speakers are unserviceable:
"Something not mentioned: they are unserviceable. Devialet claim this is due to their inability to open and reseal the cases. This could be important for prospective purchasers, since outside warranty they're essentially throw-away if they develop a fault. "
"For me, this is the one question mark. These are not the most expensive speakers, but if they do have a hardware issue, they are still a decent amount of money to throw out the window. Knowing they are unserviceable is a strong reason to put off some prospective buyers.
Hopefully there is a plan to make them serviceable for later revisions. "
Not very encouraging!
Regards,
Jean
Hi, I have heard the silver phantom and it is rather good. Dont like the looks though. Howevver I did also hear something my friend has and is called the Devialet ensamble (i think) system and it is a Devialet 120 amp and some speakers made by another France company. That system was truly fantastic. And now he is starting to use software from Roonlabs and that takes the user experience to a completely new level.
So... it's a product which divides opinion, is expensive for what it is, sounds great to some people - and just okay to others, is impossible to repair, and the styling is, again, marmite.
Kind of a B&O feeling then?
9 LEE: So.... Kind of a B&O feeling then?
So....
Wow, 9 LEE - you definitely need a hug.
There is a tv - and there is a BV
Sandyb:Though this is an interesting move announced today... https://www.engadget.com/2017/07/27/sky-soundbox-tv-speaker-devialet/ Potentially a good way to broaden their market
You buy it.....with a heavy discount, if you subscribe to Sky.
Not having heard it, it probably is a nice add-on to any non-B&O tv owner.
That said, almost any soundbar will be an upgrade to most (non-B&O) tv's.
As for the Sky logo - if you are a Sky subscriber it most likely won't matter.
Soundbars are really coming - and they are getter better and better - apart from the small 'wannabe soundbars'
Maybe it is time for a B&OPlay made/branded soundbar ;-)
But that is another topic!
