Hi everyone
I searched the forum for an answer to my problem but I didn't find anything and so I decided to open a new thread.
I have the following ml / nl configuration (see photo below):

The NL / ML BLC is set up like this:

while BeoPlay A6 is set up like this:

The system works well, the audio sources are reproduced by the devices correctly.

The problem turn up when listening to an ML source (example: radio from Beosound 5) on BeoPlay A6 and I want to change it to another ML source (example: A-mem from BS 5). The change of source triggers the BeoLink Passive to turn on and so that the sound is also reproduced in the kitchen. This does not happen if I switch from an ml source to an nl source and then to an ml, (example: radio from BS 5 -> TuneIn from BeoPlay A6 -> A-mem from BS 5) in that case the sound is reproduced only on BeoPlay A6.

The problem is not affected by how I change the sources (I tried both with the Bang & Olufsen App and with the beoremote one BT).

I'm looking for a way to remedy this defect.

Any advice is welcome

Thanks

First question, issue A.Slave setting of BLC: The flow chart, did you make it yourself or is this an original from a Beolink Handbook?

First of all thanks to both Hammersxo and Carolpa for answering me.

It's nice to know that the forum works and always tries to lend a hand.

For carolpa: the flow chart you see I drew and is not found in any Bang & Olufsen manual and I was wondering if you asked me this question because an idea came to your mind to help me. Tell me that's it. Smile

I asked you because I was confused by the BLC setup as A.Slave.

A.Slave is used when you want to connect a ML Audio Master (f.e. a BSys7000) to a further complete NL system. Than you can play the ML Audio Master sources on the NL devices.

This is in your setup also the reason the BLC is onintending starting. You're BP6 setup says if you give the A.Mem something should start in the ML strain. But the command in the BLC is also set to start an "A.Mem" source in ML (because the BLC is in A.Slave setting). There is your "conflict".

Now the setting of the BLC can be set in two ways depending on the setting of the BS5.

if in the BS5 the Audio Master is set to YES, the options for the BLC I would choose is AV Master or Source Center.

But I would set the Audio Master of the BS5 to NO and the BLC to A.Master.

Carolpa thanks for the answer and I understand your reasoning but I do not completely agree.

If your reasoning is correct even at the first request for an ML source from the Beoplay a6, the BLC should switch on the BeoLink passive and play the music in the kitchen but it doesn't.

I begin to believe that my scenario is foreseen but not implemented well, this is because after reading your answer I made a further test and I discovered that actually even at the first request the BLC turns on the beolink passive (I hear the ignition noise and the light change color) but the sound is not output as if it was muted, and this is fine (I don't want to hear the sound in the kitchen when I listen to the beoplay a6) but when I change an ML source the BLC plays the music in the kitchen.

As I described at the beginning, everything works fine if I alternately call up ML and NL sources from Beoplay A6.

To answer you why I configured the BLC as an audio slave, the answer is because it was the only alternative. In my ML configuration, the BS5 having the CD player is configured as both Audio Master and Source Center and the BV7 is the video master. In the Bang Olufsen manuals I read that it is not possible to configure the BLC as Source Center when the BS5 is present (maybe I'm wrong?) And since I don't want to give up having the BV7 as video master for the blc there was only the choice of being configured as audio slave.

I would like to know what you think about all this.

But is simply said a wrong setting! In contradiction with were the A.Slave setting stands for.

Don't change it, learn to live with errors in your daily operation of your system!

Zeus_72:
the BS5 having the CD player is configured as both Audio Master and Source Center and the BV7 is the video master.

So change the BS5 AudioMaster setting to NO. Than it is no Audio Master anymore. That leaves you to set the BLC to A.Master.

My configuration is not wrong.

I am attaching a photo of the blc manual version 1.4.

The configuration reproduced is very similar to mine, the only difference is that instead of the passive beolink there are two active speakers connected to the powerlink output of the blc and instead of the beoplay a6 there is beoplay v1.

that leaves me with my final question: “ why put it up here to discuss?”

Succes

I looked for help here in the forum because i was hoping to find someone who had already faced the problem and could indicate me a solution, i am not english and maybe something got lost in the translation.

When I refer to the fact that the configuration is not wrong, I meant that the problem is not in having set the blc as source center audio slave.

Surely there is something wrong, or there is a software bug.

If i seemed rude to you, i apologize it was not my intention.

I thank you for the time you have dedicated to me.

Grazie
