Hi

I have a Beosound 9000 (apple airport express) + Beolab9's in the lounge...linked to a Beolab 3500 in the bar area and BS9000 also linked to a Beosound 4 + Beolab3's in the kitchen..all via ML Junction box.  I can play the BS9000 and BL3500 together or the BS9000 and BS4 together but I can't play all three at the same time!! Is there anyway to do that?

Thanks

I also have a Master Link Gateway Box which I've never used, still brand new. Would that help to simply things. If I understand correctly, I can then control each product via the Beolink App?

The problem is that you have two audio masters (BS 9000 and BS4). You can only have 1 audio master connected in a ML network. A gateway won't help you there because the gateway is connected to the one ML network. Your solution is to switch to have each audio master connected to its own NL/ML Converter. Then, NL can bridge the two ML networks.

or change one to a local system and place it in option 6

The BS4 is on option 6. Everything works except I can't play all 3 at once..i.e. If I stream music to the BS9000 I can't switch both the BL3500 and BS4 to also play the music from the BS9000. I can only have the BL3500 or the BS4 on one at a time.

Did you try the

LINK CD

or

LINK RADIO

commands to the BS4 when the BS9000 is playing

I used LINK A.MEM and it works perfectly. So I have the BS9000 and BS4 playing simultaneously, when I try to add the BL3500 whilst the BS4 is still on, the BL3500 does nothing, just stays on standby. If I switch everything off then try again without the BS4 playing the BL3500  works but then I can't get the BS4 to switch on. So clearly it doesn't seem possible to have all 3 units playing at the same time the music from the Apple Airport Express connected to the BS 9000. Either have to use the BS4 or use the BL3500 ie only one product masterlinked to the BS9000 will work at a time. 2 units connected to the BS9000 cannot play simultaneously.

Hi BenSa,

I'm confused. You wrote the BS4 is in option 6. This would mean it is een local Audio ML device and the BS9000 would be the Audio Master.

For the discussion I assume the BS9000, the BS4 and the BL3500 are all in different rooms.

In this setup the Command Link A.Mem can not start anyone of the devices in any room, The Command A.Mem in the BS4 room would start the BS4. The Command LINK CD in the BS4 room would in this system start the BS9000 and a Command CD the BL35000 in that room.

If........

......as an alternative the BS4 is the Audio Master (option 1 or 2) and the BS9000 a local Audio ML device in option 6. The Command A.Mem would start the BS4 and the Command Link A.Mem in the BS9000 room would start the A,Mem source of the BS4 on the BS9000. The BL3500 room should join with a simple A.Mem Command in that room. In this setup the Command Link CD in the BS9000 room would start the CD source of the BS4.

Note you can only distribute sources of the Audio Master or the sound of the Video Master through ML

Maybe an idea: discibe your system more detailed (where places, options etc)

Hi Carolpa

Thanks for your replies and patience. I honestly use LINK A.MEM on the BS4. When I switch the BS4 on with LINK A.MEM the BS9000 switches on to A.Tape and I can hear the Apple Airport Express music (plugged in to AUX on the BS9000) on the BS4 speakers. BS9000 speakers stay off.  Then if I want to switch the BS9000 speakers on as well whilst the BS4 is still on, I press A.AUX at the BS9000. So then I'll have both the BS9000 and BS4 speakers playing the Apple Airport Express music. I just can't add the BL3500 to the mix as it won't switch on even though its on the same ML. cable as the others.

Basically i have 3 rooms but they are all more or less open to each other. So BS4 in the kitchen, BS9000 in the lounge and BL3500 in the bar. I want to be able to play the Apple Airport Express music that is streaming to the BS9000 via AUX to all three at the same time so where ever I walk I can hear the music properly. I know its a bit of overkill but I have all these units so I might as well use them. I want all 3 on at the same time playing the Airport Express Music.

Thanks again.

BenSA:
Apple Airport Express
that one I missed. But still. The Link A.Mem (= Link A.Tape) command should not start the AUX of the BS9000. But anyway it does.

So follow the assumption: all are in different rooms. The BS4 is in Option 6, the BL3500 also 6, the BS9000 in option 2 (or 1). Please confirm!

A test: start Radio on the BS9000. Start Radio of the BS9000 on the BS4 with Link Radio (should work). Start Radio of BS9000 on BL3500 with Radio (should work). Please confirm if all 3 are playing.

If all 3 play the same Radio station, goto the BS9000 and change the source manually to AUX. The APE should be playing on all devices.
