There is a tv - and there is a BV
My Salesman told me today to expect a smaller "bed room" type of TV in the same time frame. But I hope the B&O tax they put on top a LG panel (like 48") plus a Stage will not that high :-)
Michael: mseverg68: The 55 more expensive than the mk1 Only the 55? Why more expansive?

Madness. I bought a GX 55” + Stage + BeoRemote and GX 65” + Stage + BeoRemote for less than an Eclipse 55”, even with a dealer discount ๐

Your salesman might be onto something - interesting ;-)
I’d expect such a combo to be more expensive than an LG-48/Stage combo - but rhen again, maybe it offers more?
I guess it will be based on the 48" LG, according their recent strategy I would expect same concept as the Harmony that the panel is nothing B&O will touch or change (except the App inside WebOS). So a kind of a frame to mount the LG panel with a stage typ of functionality build in.
That would be my approach if I would be B&O. Dealer told my they have quite a high demand of the Stage with smaller screens.

Which is great if you don't have any external speakers. But in my case I have 4 BL 18 and a BL 19. I guess I have to go the Eclipse/Harmony way in order to replace by BV11 but I'm happy to be proven wrong!

I'd happily buy an Eclipse if a) the v2 was ever released and/or b) the Eclipse v1 was reduced to a point where a 2017 panel TV was justifiable.
Neither of those options exist right now. Hence the decision above. Don't regret it either. Would prefer to have external speakers, but the quality of the TV, setup and price point more than justify the purchase. Oh and the fact that the GX is almost flush to the wall, too!

I saw the GX in store the other day, it's really a marvel! I am renovating for the next 6/8 months so by the end hopefully I will have more choices about which equipment to get.

My biggest regret was....not going for the 77" GX
Why? The GX 65" looks much smaller than the previous BV12-65 (as that has a huge border) and realised, once the GX 65" was on the wall, I could have easily gone for the 77" - it's almost the footprint of BV12-65.
Will be interesting to see what they do with an Eclipse v2. I don't understand how they'll make it more expensive using an off-the-shelf CX though.

Mikipidia:But it’s not a beovision, it’s the stage.
Fair point. But what if THAT is exactly what people would like to buy? (like I did) Given the price/perfomance positioning. Just wondering.
Eclipse mk2 55" arrives this week. Eclipse mk2 65" will be january 2021.

Some already might have them. Spoke 1 dealer earier this week and told me that he was expecting this week the arrival. Talked to the other, who was on the road and expected the arrival today. That's what's they told me. So, exciting, for the ones who wants the 55' version.

All sounds very interesting, but what does MK2 include? HDMI 2.1, CX panel etc?..
Since the only real benefit of the CX glass is for improved gaming - its actually less good than Eclipse V1 for movies - the primary development areas would be the pass-through of better sound support, eg. Atmos. But that would be a lot of dev work and I'm unsure they have the budget. But lets see. The shift to HDMI 2.1 will make it possible.

It will be the gx-panel....
The GX and CX is the same panel.
Michael: How would CX be worse?
How would CX be worse?
That's left me somewhat perplexed, too. I've never seen a review of the CX/GX where it's argued the panel quality is 'worse' than the old 2017 panel.
Also, if the Eclipse v2 has already hit dealers, wouldn't we have a spec leak by now? Little confused by this.
Nidi: It will be the gx-panel....
The GX is designed for wall-mounting. It's a so-called unique design which sits flush on the wall and the mount hides within the back of the panel.
According to a danish forum, the main difference are a new bracket between sound center and the GX panel. And a back cover for the GX, in order to hide the cables.
Hi all
I have got a eclipse on order and told got to wait for version 2 can someone tell me if this worth the wait
i had beolab 3 and told would not fit to new stage system

I wonder if I can take my GX 55" and use it with the new soundbar/setup? I bet not, but would be interesting if you could!

Sandyb: moxxey: I wonder if I can take my GX 55" and use it with the new soundbar/setup? I bet not, but would be interesting if you could! I’m not convinced that an Eclipse with a GX panel can wall mount in the same way that a GX on its own can. In other words, if the Eclipse 2 does / can use a GX, my bet is that it will still stick out from the wall by the same amount / in the same way that the Eclipse v1 does. Which would kind of ruin the point of using the GX, for those like myself that like a flush fit to the wall.

The GX would be used to hide cables. The power cable is not possible to hide on a CX.
Which would not look very good on a Beovision.

I'd take my GX 55" off the wall, leaving the GX 65" wall-mounted, then would put the 55" on the "Eclipse v2 stand" (if it's possible). My view is, B&O might not even ship the panel and leave a dealer to drop in this component locally, thus reducing shipping costs, which would enable me to action my plan.
Only snag is, it's an expensive plan! And I have other priorities for the next few months (buying a new house for one).
Emil Jensen:The GX would be used to hide cables. The power cable is not possible to hide on a CX. Which would not look very good on a Beovision. Beovision Eclipse, Beolab 5, Beolab 17, Beosound 1 Google assist, Beoplay M3, Beoplay H6, Beoplay Earset

Brightness across large part of spectrum.
mawheele:B Brightness across large part of spectrum.
Well, I guess a new panel would mean updated HDMI-inputs nevertheless.
