MikkelMumbles:Well, I guess a new panel would mean updated HDMI-inputs nevertheless.

Michael: Nice! Seems like they found a simple yet effective way of using vesa as a means of fastening the screen. Probably making future exchanges easier too. Have you any more info? Where did you find the photo?

And this now looks like my plan of using my 55" GX with the stand/soundbar, more realistic, if it's just a custom back part. My guess is that B&O won't ship the panel (ie. won't stock it) and will leave dealers to buy off-the-shelf parts to combination with the stand/soundbar.
I'd be very very surprised if they don't go with that option. No point B&O HQ shipping the entire setup when a dealer can simply slot in the GX panel themselves.
Question is, how much would this save me? The stand + soundbar will still be £5000-£6000 I'd assume!
I found it on the Danish forum Flatpanels,
Sorry no more info.
But I would not expected much else have changed.
Anyway it looks good.
Hallo Moxxey,
Yes this will defintly be the case.
But as I have understood the Soundcenter will raise in price.
So not cheaper than the current Eclipse.
Anyone know if there's a 48" version on the way?
andy_js: Anyone know if there's a 48" version on the way?
In this world nothing is certain... but there will not be a 48" Eclipse... from what I understood just an update to the current version

Hi all

That's correct, the Stage is a stand alone sound bar.
It would fit in to the Eclipse sound centre.
Hopefully one step closer to being able to get the soundcentre & stand to put my 55 CX onto (fingers crossed).
Just waiting for a B&O dealer callback .... im guessing he was waiting for this to come out ...

Where - link please?
I don’t see anything there.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
This one maybe:

Yes, right - a Peter Pan-free B&O thread -)))
I had not seen that - thanks.
I have waited over a year for this. Its hardly a design masterpiece is it? how much did it cost B&O to 'develop' this solution and they charge more , so it would seem.
So one takes the the first properly designed super slim OLED the GX series and stick it on top of this box with a ugly black cover on the back- why bother to buy such a nice screen,

Michael:It seems more flexible but also looks much thicker than before right? The GX looks very B&O in the back side and the square design look but I believe the back is made of regular industrial metal sheets and doesn’t have a nice finish, and visible screw holes. If we look at the harmony video at least. Maybe they can make a thin sheet that can be fixed over it or something but at the same time it is the back. The biggest design issue as I can see is that the tv now looks much thicker and a selling point with free standing OLEDs is usually the thinness of the panel itself. A good thing I guess though is that the thicker design is more sturdy and might be better at moving air meaning longer lifetime of the panel (perhaps).

I dislike those thin panels - the thinness was never a selling point to me.
And in reality they are not thin. The lower part bulky and the upper thin as glas seems rather unharmonic from a design point imo.
The C9 hanging on the wall at my sons house seems odd, when you look a bit from the side.
However, it will be interesting to see, what they will do with the Eclipse 2nd version, when it will be wallhanged....how far from the wall it will be, when not turned out.
Sandyb:But it would be amazing if there would be a way of mounting the GX flush, and using the (or a) sound centre sitting just below it on the wall. And therefore not having to put up with the mediocre styling of the Eclipse as a whole.
Good point, never thought about that. If an Eclipse v2 is wall mounted, it will look nothing like the GX, which sits flush on the wall (as the mount is hidden in the rear of the TV).
As for the design. It's fine? I don't understand what people were expecting. Waiting 2-3 years? Eh? You were never going to get a redesign. It was just a case of how they implement a modern 2020 panel with the existing design, make it more modular so you can potentially swap out the panel next year or 2022, but without losing the ethos of the original design.
I think they've done a good job! 95% of people never look around the back and you'll nearly always see the Eclipse v2 face-on. And it looks like the original, which is what we all want - the original looks good.
The next 'interesting' point will be the price and how much they charge for this stand + soundcenter on top of a off-the-shelf-GX.

Oh come on. This is your B&O PR at it's worst. How can you dislike a thin panel which sits flush on the wall? It looks amazing! Who wants a beast hanging off your wall? No-one. Well, apart from you, clearly :)
And the C9 isn't a GX, is it? That's the point. The GX is completely flush. You don't see anything. Wires, mount, nothing. They all go in to the back of the TV. It's so good. It also enables you to have a far bigger TV, too. For example, I could have a GX 77" instead of the huge footprint of the old BV12-65.
I'm sure some people on here want to live in 1992 and haven't moved on, but assume design from 1992 is still 'really cool' (think chromed products, black plastic, lots of bulk, manual control etc).

I think he means the C line, which are not flush to the wall at all.
The GX is much nicer in this regard.
And B&O are clearly using this panel/TV for both the Harmony and Eclipse.
Please spare me your ‘your B&O PR at it’s worst’ rubbish - we are exchanging opinions here....nothing more.
I was talking the socalled thin OLEDS, not the GX.....and I expressed my curiousity about how an Eclipse 2nd gen (which is supposed to have a GX part) will look on the wall.
Of course you are right, if you just want to have it flush to the wall - I suppose however, that that version will be made to turn just like the Version 1.
Your preferences don’t have to be mine - and mine not yours....lets cool it.
B&O - as usual - will do what they like. And we will have to see the 2nd gen in the flesh, before we decide thumbs up or down, I’d suggest.
Many personal opinions now but its also good, everyone has one and B&O is doing high end style products for us so they should listen as well. I hope we can soon see more of this new product and I think over all it looks good. The panel doesnt have to be thin, just good. But the thinness from the original Eclipse I did find cool and I will miss it on this design, at least at the beginning. I do think it will be less risky as it has more strenght probably though, which should be beneficial. The new screen also has built in speakers etc so it is easier to sell when its time to move to a newer product again. And hey, B&O, listen. People obviously want modularity. The Stage gives you that in a simple and good way but it lacks the modularity with the B&O eco system. Give us both in a product that can be as the sound center and everyone would be happy.
And here's the answer for my original question... GX panel. That's gonna be interesting wall mounting.
