Sounds great when I get close to 2g's but sounds terrible at 1-1.7. Tried it on both an 8002 and a beogram 5500....I heard the suspension softens with age but wondering if anyone had any ideas...

Those are the symptoms of the suspension starting to show its age.You have to begin increasing the tracking force.It is worth it to have a professional repair the suspension. I have had a couple MMC-1 and several MMC-2 cartridges done.
