Hey everyone! Decided a little while ago to make my BeoSound 1 setup a little neater and this is what I've come up with. This is for my bedside drawer and I predominantly use this speaker accordingly in my bedroom; the only reason I went with the dock is because I occasionally need to move the speaker out of the way when I do the bed sheets so that I don't smack into it by accident. I have speakers in every other room in the house so there's usually not much of a reason to otherwise move the BeoSound 1, but it's always nice to have it mobile and fully charged.
The aluminum washer where the cable goes in is not just for aesthetics, it also helps me to align the speaker into the charging dock perfectly every single time I need to pop it back in.
The cable is held down via fasteners beneath the top of the drawer and exits the rear where it then runs out a drilled hole and into a power strip which I screwed in which also provides power to a table lamp near the speaker. I modified the power strip with a C14 connector to make moving stuff around really easy; that way all I need to do is unplug one cable and everything's mobile to facilitate easy cleaning.
(I love the IEC C13/C14 connectors and use them for just about everything at home. It makes it very easy to move stuff around and extend/shorten cables at will with C13 to C14 power cables.)
The biggest pain in the ass with respect to this whole project was measuring the mounting holes beneath the charging dock. The measurements are all really weird and I spent a lot of time with my calipers and metal rulers making sure I got everything down to an accuracy of 0.5mm so that the speaker is perfectly aligned with the edge of the table since I'm extremely anal.
All in all I'm reasonably satisfied; I love doing this kind of stuff.

Very nice! Since the outer diameter of your metal grommet looks smaller than the figure-8 plug end, and the hole underneath the drawer is *definitely* smaller, presumably you left out the step where you sliced off the molded power plug and replaced it, with a screw-on or clamp-on mains plug from the ironmonger's? Or does B&O ship the U.K. 230V version with a non-molded head? Those type-G plugs are huge -- here in the States, BeoSound 1 doesn't even need to use a grounded plug on the other end of the figure-8! IEC connectors are definitely a win over there.
Very nice setup, well done!

Yep! I was going to slice the cable anyway since I always like to trim all of my cables to the precise lengths I require them; so I cut off the original two prong moulded plug from the power cable and ran the cable through the holes which I drilled for the precise diameter of the cable, after which I attached a three pin UK plug to the other end of the cable as pictured.
I prefer the three pin UK plugs anyhow as it’s a lower profile design and thus allows my drawer to be as close to the wall as possible.
