Dear members of beoworld,If everything goes smoothly, I will move to Germany from Indonesia for some time and I would love to bring my B&O with me.My questions are as follows:1. Do you have any experience moving with your B&O?
2. Do you send it with couriers like DHL, UPS, or FedEx?
3. What preparations should I need to do?
4. When I send documents to another country, DHL asks about the value of the package. Does the tax and customs apply to moving our product overseas?Thank you for your attention and help
Best Regards, Mit freundlichen Grüßen, 감사합니다Antonius Robin Iriawan, 로빈 올림

If you're talking about TV and TV speakers, I would arrange an international moving company rather than a simple courier. They will know how to pack everything properly.
With regards to the customs, when you move most countries allow you to import an initial, single shipment without applying any taxes/VAT. You must obviously demonstrate you are moving there (i.e. change residence) to benefit from this.
If that's not the case, it means you will declare a price (you can obviously apply depreciation) and you will pay the standard German VAT like when you import any merchandise.
Again, any serious moving company will be able to assist you with both practical and regulatory issues.

What I want to bring with me is my Beosound 35. It may not be so difficult like the Beovisions or the Beolabs, but it is a 1 metre wide speaker with its aluminium housing which can be a problem if the person simply throws our product into a conveyor. Fortunately, I still have the original B&O packaging. I hope it will make it easier to packReally? Depreciation? Perhaps, they will check the current price of that product in Germany... I am not sure.Thank you for sharing with me. I really appreciate it
ToeKneeAus:I would definitely second the suggestion to use a professional moving company, 20 years ago i moved an Avant, Beovision 1 & beosound 9000 to Australia from the UK. The company wrapped the beovision 1 as I didn’t have the packaging - and in the transport crate (1/3 of a regular truck) its was snuggly sat on the backside as I’d requested. Everything arrived ok - except there was a scrape on the back of the Beovision 1 - but insurance covered replacing that to get it looking like new. If you are moving a house load to Germany definitely ship the B&O gear in with your house possessions moving and use the original B&O packaging where possible, Having your items in a larger load that you see packed in a big container is much better than sending single packages DHL, UPS FEDEX that will at some time be banging about on a conveyor belt and thrown into a van...... I didn’t pay any tax bringing our house contents B&O into Aus.
Did the company offer the insurance or did you find it by yourself? I am just moving a Beosound 35. It is not so difficult like the Beovisions or the Beolabs, but the aluminium is somewhat delicate, that is what I worry about. That is also my concern. I am afraid of the mishandling of my product. They can simply throw on a conveyor belt or a in a van.Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate it

What I meant is that for custom purposes, if the item is used, its declared value can be less than the original price.
But if you insure it with DHL (for example they charge optional 1% * value) at the full price, you will need to use the same value for the customs (thus paying 19% German VAT to import the item).
