Hi,

I recently acquired a pair of beolab 17s for my apartment. As per now I have a setup with beolab 9 with sonos port in my house, which works perfectly fine.

For my apartment  would like the 17s to connect to Sonos Port, a samsung TV and a record player. Which solutions are there for connecting all of them? I do have a spare beosound 4 which could be used in the setup, but preferably not.

Also, wireless is not a requirement, although it would be cool to try.

Will be hard to realize without some kind of preamp to control the volume.

Of the devices you mention, the Sonos Port could be controlled in the app, if you set the output to variable there.

How good that will work/how smooth only a test can show - you must know from your Sonos/BL9 setup!

If you’d use the analog outs of the Samsung (if not available, you must use the headphone out) in order to have volume control.

A turntable normally hasn’t got a volume control.

Connecting these 3 devices (via analog in) would require a switch of some kind.

Not easy!

Personally I’d get a Beomaster 6500/7000 and connect all there - there are several input ports there.....and you can remote control switching between these and the volume of course.

The BL17’s should then be connected via PowerLink.

N.B. If you in this case want wireless, you could connect a Transmitter 1 to the Beomaster/PL and send the sound via WiSA to the 17’s.

Note: there are more options with the Transmitter 1.

Keep on posting - maybe someone else here has a better idea.

You may want to look into the Almando devices, they have a HDMI input from the TV, the Sonos can be connected as well and the come with Wisa as an option.

You might want to check out the WISA SoundSend that should come out this month. It connects to the TV via ARC and then wirelessly to your Beolabs. You should be able to control the volume via the TV remote. And if you're lucky your TV has chromecast or airplay built in which you could use for your Sonos multiroom and then hopefully this would enable volume control via chromecast/airplay aswell.

Thanks Simphax, the SoundSend looks like a decent product.
