Hi

I need to replace the orginal MMC4 stylus unit ( it has a 4 pin plug ) and I was hoping someone could recommend someone to supply me one.

I have seen sound smith in the US advetising them, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience they could share on this please?

Thanks

If your cartridge can still produce sound in both channels, however distorted or whatever, it can be re-tip'ed.
I suggest you email Hans Henrik at pickupservice@outlook.dk

Yes, the Soundsmith SMMC series work well.

 I have both a Soundsmith SMMC4 and a tired original MMC4.
The SMMC4 does sound better than the MMC4 in my Beocenter 7700 and not as good as an MMC2.

So, yes, Soundsmith is legit and the SMMC4 works well as a replacement.

I was never a big fan of the Soundsmith "replicas".
A modern sound perhaps, but I find them sterile and tired sounding. Lacking the "air" and pleasant warm sound of the original.
Some may like it - or perhaps they never had a chance to compare.
