We are new to the awesome world of Bang and Olufsen. We have just moved into a house and the previous owners left the following:
Beovision 5 2002 MK 1 non HD
4 CRT Beovisions.
Masterlink (found it upstairs in a cupboard)
Beolab 1 circa 2002 x2
Beolab 2 sub woofer circa 2002
Beosound 6000 x2
DVD 1 1992
BEOSOUND 4 Circa 2002
It was connected to a sky plus box by the previous owners using the beolink to mean that you could mirror the image on any of the TVs and change the channel (change of one changed all).
We have just installed sky q. Currently into a Samsung but are keen to try and use the BEOVISION infrastructure we have in the house. Is this possible? Can you buy an HDMI to scart converter to make it work? Would the Beolink still work? Or should we buy a newer model 2nd hand B&O TV to link to the sky q box? Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks.
If your Samsun TV has a headphone jack, you can just connect the BeoLab 2 to the TV (Steve can sell you the cables you need to connect to the BL2 and the trigger) and then connect the BL6000 to the BL 2 via power link. I have done something like that in the past - Sony TV volume controlled line out to BL 2 -->BL 8002. I then added a BS Core so that I now have TV--.Core via optical --> BL 2 Powerlink -->BL 8002. I use my Eclipse remote to control the speaker volume or B&O App. All my streaming content is via my Apple TV 4K.
I doubt you can get HD content from the CRT no matter what you try if it doesn't have an HDMI HDCP input. My 2 cents worth...
B&O in my life 😊:
