Hi All,

New to the forum, and hoping someone can help. I've just completed the first of two major B&O installs in my new home, and am having issues streaming music from my turntable, which is connected to a Core via line-in, to my Harmony 77. The Core will multiroom the turntable music flawlessly to any of the several flex speakers in my home, but won't play properly on the Harmony. The Harmony will recognize it, but no sound comes out. I've also tried multiroom from another turntable connected to an Edge, and it also doesn't work. Deezer FLAC works fine from either the Core or the Edge (or any other flex speaker) to the Harmony, but not the multiroom via line-in on the other device. I've tested all wifi/hardwired connections and everything is strong and stable. I have plenty of other speakers I could listen to the turntable from, but the second part of the install later this year includes 2 pairs of 18s and a 19 to be used with the Harmony, which I primarily purchased to use with the turntable, with surround sound as an added benefit--and now I'm wondering what to do and how to solve the issue. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Steve from sounds heavenly can probably suggest the correct connection. I don’t think you can connect a turntable directly to a Core’s line in since it doesn’t have an amp and purely a streaming device. I think you can connect the turntable directly to the Harmony...my guess only

This is well known issue, but if you start playing build in audio source from the harmony - tune in or deezer and then line in, it should play for around 5 mins, then it will stop.

SW update for the Harmony should be available this month.

Thanks. For the sake of brevity, I forgot to mention the turntable is connected to the core via a phono pre-amp, which is connected via an RCA to 3.5mm line.

Pat, thanks for the heads up. I tried what you said, and it did exactly what you mention. I really hope the SW update will resolve the issue! By this month, do you mean November?

I have a Beogram connected to the Harmony; no issues with multiroom to BS Shape (=Core) and other devices.

Additional info: a BS5e line-in connected to a BLC can be started (the line-in) at the BS Shape and joined by the BV Harmony

EDIT: did some additional testing.

1. when a BLC line-in is involved the Harmony keeps the JOIN connection

2. when a Moment line-in is involved the Harmony plays until the Info on the screen is turned off. At the same time the BS35 keeps the JOIN connection though

Did you get any further with this issue. I am thinking of doing the same, my turntable/pre-amp is nowhere near the Harmony so was intending buying a Beosound Core to try and wirelessly integrate it into the Harmony/18. I have no issues streaming via Airplay via Roon or direct using the B&O iphone app with Deezer. The speaker selection from the Harmony is great, just define it and then the correct speakers play dependent on the source.

Current setup:

77" Harmony

4 x BL 18

BL 19

Yes, my dealer was able to get B&O to send me beta software to my Harmony ahead of the second install earlier this week, and now everything works well with listening to music on the Harmony/18s/19 from the turntable via the Core (or any other line-in source over multiroom from the other speakers in my home). It’s worked reliably and sounds great. The only small glitch is that if you join on the Harmony, it isn’t switching over to my speaker roles for music, instead to the startup which is for surround. We got around that for the time being by programming one of the MyButtons on the Beoremote One as a “listening to the turntable” preset. Apparently B&O are aware of that glitch, as well, and I’m told all should be resolved in the upcoming software update that they say is scheduled for January.
