I have been looking into replacing the laser on one of my BS9000's.
it is a MK3. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there concerning which is the correct laser which isn't. It would be great to have a reference page on B&O with which lasers can be used as replacements on which product. It would be helpful as questions about lasers gets asked fairly often.
Basically is a CDM 12.4 compatible with a MK3? Some say no, some say yes.
For MK3 laser which will work for sure is the one with description of 1VC0573.Other lasers may work or not.
I think is the time that either a replacement obtainable laser should be suggested ( by B&O ?)or new PCB41 should be obtainalble to work with lasers actually on the market.
If you can afford there are companies in UK or Germany able to replace a laser for youor sell you a genuine laser.
Thanks for the reply. I haven't heard of the 1VC0573 laser in all my searching. Adds to the confusion.
Just for what it worth: I have successfully replaced a BS900 MK3 laser eye with one taken from a BS3000 MK1 (small clamper) which had fried eprom (or whatever this issue is called).
Thanks Matador43, interesting to know but of course even finding what is the model of the laser for the 3000 isn't easy.
Really amazing how there isn't any really definite information online. People seem to disagree with each other a lot on which laser.
Guess the only option is to open each 9000 and try and find the same lasers.
Would be nice to know though if the easy to find ones are also compatible. Its quite difficult when you don't live in Europe as you have to have the parts sent to you and its a nightmare if its the wrong one not to mention costly.

I did change just the eye so I don't know if the whole mech will work. The important thing is the marking on the orange triangle wireband connector (something like F 8 oo 2).
I think Member weebyx also use mech coming from an old Marantz deck, but you have to search for the relevant thread as I may be wrong.
