Michael:So another ridiculous probably really ugly branded product that already exists? The latest one with the edge for example. So ridiculous and unnecessary. But I guess some people like it. For me it’s just 🤢
The reason brands build, particularly on social media, is by brand association. This is why they reach out to 'influencers' as their followers think the brand must be cool if it's promoted by the influencer. It's the same with the likes of Rapha - their followers see the B&O brand, the partnership, may investigate, may look in to the brand further, may then purchase a speaker and so on.
B&O really does need to do more marketing by brand association!
For the weak minded - it reminds me of ex-member Paul would would've been impressed by something like this.
Ban boring signatures!

Yes I really feel that they are starting to take marketing serious. It is good to see.

We need to remember most people are not seeking wired networks in 2020, they don't want to control other devices with an expensive remote, nor do they want to turn things on with their finger anymore. That's the modern market. Devices, inter-connected, wirelessly, voice-controlled. I want to be able to walk between rooms and turn a speak on with my voice, turn it off as I walk out, control the volume and I don't want any wires, hidden or otherwise.
What I *do* miss though is full TV control. Totally frustrating that the ultra-modern UHD Sky Q box can't be controlled by anything other than the Sky remote. That seems like a step backwards.
On a different note, I don't think I've used my Halo since I bought it. It doesn't even impress anyone either. Was slightly shocked by that. People just don't do 'big volume controllers' anymore and this made me think - it's an object which looks good over something of any real practicality for me.
I totally agree, I banged on early days about how impressed I was with my Google home (from a control point of view and with a chromcast audio in my bs5000), my wife absolutely loved/loves it - its one of the few times I've been an early adopter because it made perfect sense to me and was fully usable without forking out for any music subscription.
Compare that to a pair of headphones with "someone's idea of trendy" logo stuck on them!

B&O really does need to do more marketing by brand association! I know B&O is doing hard work on social media but their main ways is to give away headphones to super sexy people and ask they to write they love their headphones. I think it’s pretty shallow. And simply putting a logo on their stuff and selling it as a new product or limited edition, well I guess it’s doable but it’s pretty cheap. Sure some collaborations can be nice but honestly it’s just to create hype. It literally means nothing more. If that’s the way to grow, I wonder what market that it creates. I remember how they “charmed” me as a kid and it was not by sexy influencers getting free stuff or a logo of whatever brand I already like on a Bluetooth speaker. Just my opinion

I am in complete agreement Michael. I discovered B&O as a young teenager in exactly the same way. What I saw was so exciting and groundbreaking; words that rarely come to mind these days. I know its incredibly hard to keep that momentum going but I suppose I always hoped they could. Times are very different with much more competition of course. I do accept that, its just a shame.
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Jeson Zale:An influencer is an individual who has the power to affect purchase decisions of others because of his/her authority
buyers/followers are sheep........ "many followers" then the product must be good or interesting or a must have or ......
So ideal marketing instruments.
